Maybe so. But there are issues where I take a liberal stance and issues where I take a conservative stance, so I find myself arguing with both sides from time to time. And at least in the arguments I've had, this criticism is far more valid and prevalent with liberals who oppose my conservative positions than with conservatives who oppose my liberal positions.

I've had some time to think about and I owe you an apology. My tone, and intentions, in riding you about PCUSA. It became about being right rather than about glorifying God and that is the sin of pride on my part.

I will say that I stand by my concerns

Being put over a flock is a huge responsibility and by no means a right. Gay ordination is *not* an equal rights issue, even within the church itself.

This to me was the most infuriating part of the Gene Robinson fiasco scenario that went down with the Episcopalians some years back. The man was an unrepentant homosexual who *cheated on his wife*, got divorced and not only did he hold his position he was appointed a bishop.

Ordinances against homosexual clergy, deacons, elders, and voting members, are critical because the society is changing. 350 years ago the idea of a practicing Homsexual leading a flock was so out in left field it did not even need to be addressed.

But now, instead of helping homosexuals to see that a life of unrepentant sin will condemn one eternally we are *encouraging* it by ordaining them (even at a local level). That's not loving the sinner, that's loving the sin, or at least tolerating it.

I fully understand people of faiths not seeing eye to eye on everything. That has...and always will be the case. We all tend to get tied up in our core belief systems..it is simply human nature.

I am sure I have seen that mini series a dozen times over the years and never thought to find out what that phase meant until today.... It turns out that the author of the book..
