You mean the neocons?
The Republican party is beginning to shift away from it's ridiculous experiment with the hypocritical policies of neoconservatism. There is an ongoing shift towards the roots of conservatism--anti-war, anti-government, and pro-liberty.
Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Justin Amash, Rand Paul(to a lesser extent), etc are a part of something very different from the status quo garbage that has corrupted the party for quite some time now.
The Tea Party and some of it's leaders(Palin, Cain, Bachmann) are in many ways more of the same old, same old. Despite that, I see them as "bridge" politicians, if you will. In other words, many of the supporters of these candidates are honest people who would more openly embrace the real ideas of conservatism if they weren't constantly bombarded by much of the trash that Fox News tries to pass as 'conservatism'. Most of the people who support these candidates are older(baby boomer or +) and thus are too heavily ingrained in the current system to fully shift away from neoconservatism. Nonetheless, they do discuss important issues like sound money, balanced budgets, limited government, etc. It might be mindless rhetoric, but at least their rhetoric is shifting.
This hesitance to embrace true conservatism is not nearly as common in the younger conservatives. The future of the party relies on these young voters, and many of them see Fox News and neoconservatism for what it is--garbage.
