Money bag games means we get closer to a on campus stadium.

I can't begrudge USA for taking an "opportunity" game. We all do it. I do hope that we can reduce our dependence on these types of games over the next few years, and play more home and home series against the better teams in FBS football.
Best of luck against Georgia. I hope it doesn't get too ugly.

I looked at the future game schedules for the SBC teams. It appears that USA is almost locked up its OC schedule upto 2020. Are the other SBC schools rejecting offers from FBS schools or having trouble getting them to home and home games?
We have home games against Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Navy, Tulane, Kent, Lousiana Tech and Southern Miss.
We have away games at Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU and Georgia. There are no home games at present against these four; however, I am hoping for a home game against LSU in the future.

After this year we can not be accused of playing pantywastes any longer even though we had to start somewhere.

Getting Miss St. and Oklahoma St. to play you at home is great. If you don't have an on campus stadium, where are you playing them?
Back in the Hayden Fry days, North Texas could get big programs to come play us, but only at Texas Stadium. It was bad for the program. We have always had bad luck trying to get big time programs to come play us at Fouts. Kansas State came down last season. After the scare we gave them, they probably won't be coming back any time soon.
With the new stadium, I'm hoping we can start bringing in better teams. Right now we have Houston and Indiana coming to North Texas next season. SMU will be playing a 4 game home and home series with us starting in 2014. Army, Navy, and Tulsa, all regularly play at North Texas. I wish we could get Oklahoma State and teams of that caliber to regularly come to our new stadium.

USA plays its home games at Ladd-Peebles stadium. The site of the Go Daddy.com Bowl and Senior Bowl.

Any plans for an on campus stadium? If so, what size, and how much are you planning to spend? I would expect the city and bowl to support you. A new stadium would enhance both annual games.

Frankly, we want as little involvement with the city as possible. Preferably none. They manage to screw everything up. But yes, there are private talks ongoing, and have been for some time. Ladd holds just under 40k, and in order to try to allure the bowls over to campus, many suspect that ours would be similar. I'd be more for 30k with room to expand, but I am apparently in the minority of our fans.

If you get the OCS anytime soon, I'd be surprised to see it open at much larger than 30k. It just doesn't make sense to open at 40k.

I agree, but many on our board do not. You can't build a stadium for a handful of future games. Keep it reasonably sized, fill that up, and create demand. THEN you can expand.
