Just keep doing what you are doing and we will keep doing our thing. There are very few programs in the Belt that don't have just as much going on as anybody in CUSA. There are some programs in that conference that are just down right sad. It's good to see Tech going in such a positive direction, would I call it elite no but it is definitely going places. But I really think MTSU Ark State ULL Troy and yes even Western KY are all doing great things. Oh sorry to leave N. texas out.

Yeah, kind of hard not to bash Tech when their fans are not only very arrogant, but also condescending. Sorry, but I've had La Tech fans talk smack on the level of Clemson fans. Not trying to be an a hole, but the truth is the truth.

I thought La Tech had a good crowd and played pretty well. I'm not much of a Tech fan, but got to give credit where it's due.

funny none of that is condescending. I mean it. alot of belt teams are doing great things with both facilities and winning games. Many C"USA teams are just doing absolutely nothing. And funny it is coming from some of the so called largest media markets. UAB and Tulane are dying on the vine in major cities while Tech and many others in smaller markets are generating excitement and getting decent crowds. If you want to hate on Tech go ahead. It really won't make any difference.

I agree. The whole media market aspect is overrated. UAB, Tulane, Rice...

I think it's more a question of potential. A team can be bad in a market of over 1 million people, and draw 75% of what an awesome team in a market of 25k can. The ceiling for the teams in those major markets is so much higher.

I would still take a rowdy excited core fan base of 20k than an apathetic crowd and student section of 9. and this great potential of 100k cityplex. How is that working out for Tulane? If there is no spark there is no fire. Besides our potential is not only in little Ruston. It is the fact that we are slowly taking charge of the Shreveport market and it has a population center of 600k. We just drew over 21k to a Wednesday night game. That didn't all come from little Ruston now did it. YOu have to make people believe in your product first. That is what brings the people to little Troy as well.

RE: Tech vs. Hawaii on ESPN2 tonight
My thoughts on last night's Tech v. Hawaii game:

- The Warriors looked absolutely pathetic. Was that the same program that Colt Brennan led to a BCS bowl game? they shyed away from hits and showed no drive on the goal line.

- La Tech looked good on the ground. they seem to have two very capaable runningbacks.

- La Tech's stadium is a dump. From all the hoop-la they have been talking I was expecting something, i don't know...nice, as far as facilities went. The video board was awesome, but that stadium looked like a glorified highschool stadium. What was with that drainage ditch the Hawai'i receiver slid into after the failed fade route on 3rd down? wow.

- Troy's Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium blows Tech's stadium out of the water...big time. I didn't know just how fortunante we are to have a beautiful facility like we do until I saw that place.

- Dooley looked sharp in his red polo.

- The students seemed in to the game, until La Tech put it away late. Then things calmed down...which is expected.

All-in-all a poor showing for the WAC. one team dominating another during a prime-time game. Wish Hawai'i could have kept it close, I started to doze off after the third quarter.

Just my humble opinions from what I saw last night.

RE: Tech vs. Hawaii on ESPN2 tonight
funny we are getting many compliments on how great the stadium looked last night. New Press box and endzone field house coming next year. Things are only getting better. But go ahead and hate. It's great to be a Tech fan right now. That new parking lot the engineering department put together is pretty amazing. Never seen anything like it. It has all these weird designs in it. but I have to agree I am not crazy about the drainage ditch thing. Maybe its needed for the field turf. We need something to cover it up. that is where the new field house will be so maybe it will not be there next year. the stadium has the best sight lines in college football. Not a bad seat in the house

RE: Tech vs. Hawaii on ESPN2 tonight
well OwlFamily, whatever it was, it was a dump. i had never seen La Tech's stadium, so I was very surprised. I expected something ATLEAST as nice the average Sun Belt stadium, but man was I wrong! I'm not trying to talk smack here, just expressing my dissapointment in their facilities. the way their fans talk themselves up on here, i was fooled.

La Tech is a good mid-major program, but if any of their fans EVER talk smack about facilities, they deserve to be smacked back. The only stadium in our conference that Tech's can outright beat is FAU's, and theirs is not even really theirs.

well you know all of you would kill to have that Jumbotron and I think that our stadium is just as good as all of your stadiums and some parts of it are better. I think only Troy and Western Kentucky can boast having a better stadium.

better. just because it is bowled in does not make it better. It is not a bad stadium but not any better than Techs. I have been there.

Tech's stadium not even close to as nice as stAte's (except in their own minds). I've been to both.

Here's another one of ours:

RE: Tech vs. Hawaii on ESPN2 tonight
the only thing nicer on that stadium is the press box and Tech is about to change that too. The set up of our stands are nicer than the boxy look of the MT stadium. And our new jumbotron is three times nicer. The Muts stadium is actually a little cheap looking. lol ok the last part was just a dig. I like JAs and it has been really fun watching it improve. This stadium looks ten times better than it did just 3 short years ago. It will be amazing when its finished. Middle has a good stadium but not any better than Techs. The stadium with the most potential is probably ULL. And what is with all that blue around the field. Tech stadium is so much louder because we are right on the action. The same with Boise. That stadium is actually nasty except for the press box

im sorry theATLDawg, but yalls stadium is not nicer than Middle's stadium. La Tech's stadium is just aweful, i wouldn't be surprised if it had a negative effect on recruiting it's so bad. nice jumbotron though.
