The past is the past. What have you done lately ?

Hell, you beat ut-obKnoxiousville back in the 70's.

We used to have a damn good men's hoops program.

True, and it seems MTSU is on the upswing. It's gonna be a great game Tuesday. 04-rock

Yeah, it usually ends when you hire a HS coach..... 05-stirthepot

OUCH....but we did have four trips in a row to Nawlins.......1 shared championship and 3 outright and a 26 game undefeated streak in conference. Pan and try to downplay it all you wish with claims of "we're better now" etc....... but you haven't done it. Heck of the 3 championships you claim, only 1 is outright with a sit at home on one.05-stirthepot But please, keep entertaining us with stories of your greatness04-cheers Maybe "As Troy Roars" will replace "As the World Turns" as a soap opera.:ncaabbs:

I think this speaks for itself:

Offense (In League Play)

36ppg Troy
36ppg Lousiana

31ppg Fl. Int.
30ppg Fl. Atl.
30ppg Louisiana Monroe
26ppg Arkansas State
24ppg Middle Tennessee
19ppg North Texas

Defense (In League Play)

17ppg Troy
24ppg Arkansas State
26ppg Middle Tennessee
27ppg Florida Atlantic
31ppg Louisiana Monroe
32ppg Florida International
32ppg Louisiana
46ppg North Texas

Margain of Victory (In League Play)

+19ppg Troy
+4ppg Louisiana
+3ppg Florida Atlantic
+2ppg Arkansas State
-1ppg Florida International
-1ppg Louisiana Monroe
-2ppg Middle Tennessee
-27ppg North Texas

Most of those stats were padded from the McCollum era and academic probation. We are off probation folks and it ain't gonna be pretty for ya'll.

That's just from 2008, Troy's rebuilding year, and has nothing to do with the McCollum era.

UL fan here weighing in on the Troy/MT game, I will be watching and am very excited about seeing 2 of the better teams in conference on ESPN, this is one situation where the conference got it right and got one of our best games on TV. With that said, I managed to catch only a little of the Troy/ASU game last weekend and thought Troy looked very tough with Levi Brown. Problem was that while I saw some good Offense, the defense didn't awe me. MT has been showing some offensive muscle with Dasher, but the truth is they won't force Troy into 5 turnovers. This deciding factor in my opinion will be home field advantage. I know that MT dealt with a larger and harsher crowd in Maryland, but I simply don't think that Maryland is as good as Troy is. This will be a high scoring affair between 2 evenly matched teams with my final prediction being...

Troy-35
MT-34

No surprise there for me. Last year they had some great, great conference matchups on ESPN2. The MTSU/FAU game. The TROY/FAU game. And I think there may have been one or two more, but I know those were about this point in the season, and both on Interactive Tuesday.

RE: The Belt's Greatest Football Rivalry
the Sun Belt does a better job of putting a good product on the field mid-week than the MAC or the WAC.
