Troy-UAB sellout
The game against UAB is a sellout according to someone on gotroytrojans.com. That'd be nice if true. Hopefully the weather will be good.

RE: Troy-UAB sellout
I hope so. We (band students) have been posting on facebook all day about going to the game and staying all four quarters, so maybe we'll get through to some people. However, with it raining I don't see that happening. I hope that it doesn't though because otherwise I think it will be a great turn out!
Go Trojans!!!!

If correct, thats fantastic news!! Whether its 1A or 1AA, regional rivalries benefit everyone from a monetary standpt. Plus, it'll be good to see them go home with their tails between their legs!!! Best of Luck!

I didn't see 21k on the TV. They must have been sitting on one side.

The press box side, which viewers rarely see, is almost always near full. The other side was full on the bottom deck and three-quarters full on the top deck. The end zone was nearly full.
The consensus among Troy fans was 24,000 to 26,000. Troy has undercounted attendance before.

I was there as well, and the entire stadium was full, though some of it was spread out within the individual sections. I thought during the game there were around 26,000.

Not sure about 26,000, looked more like 24,000 (on tv) to me

Seriously? With as much emphasis that is placed on attendance, I strongly doubt that.

All I know is I see all areas of the stadium from where I am and certain games appear to have a lot more fans than the number announced. TV referred to 26,000 plus yesterday.

I just can't see Troy somehow neglecting to count 5,000 butts, I've heard of teams overcounting plenty of times, but never undercounting. Attendance is a point of pride, so I just can't imagine that's right. I guess I'll have to take you at your word, it just makes zero sense from Troy's perspective.

RE: Troy-UAB sellout
I can see them overlooking students because they can just show their ID and be on their way. However, when I go to the baseball games they had a counter thing and kept hitting every time a student walked by. So I hope they did it at the game yesterday, there were A LOT of students that came! I was very proud to see that many of students there and that they actually stayed the entire game, WOO!!!
Don't forget about the 300+ SOTS in the stands! UAB brought their band, so that's another 150+. They did Malaguena at halftime and it sounded pretty good. I was on the other side of the field ready to go on and I couldn't really hear it, but parts that I did hear sounded good.

Troy needs to invest in a system to scan student id's. I'm sure you have plenty of young alumni getting into games for free, when now is the time to grab them as season ticket holders. At MT we've scanned ID's for football and basketball since I started here.

My thoughts exactly! A few of my friends that have transferred elsewhere can get in... Because they don't look at the year on the ID and they basically see it and let you through... My friend from back home in Columbus, GA used my ID and got in with no questions asked... and he looks nothing like me. I agree... A scanning system is NEEDED! Thing is it's probably just lazy @$$ people at the entrances and they could careless about Troy's attendance...

NCAA rules provide that the faculty athletic representative is to certify that students admitted by presenting an ID card are counted (commonly done with a "clicker"). If Troy is failing to count student admissions (which I doubt) practices need to be changed to conform with NCAA rules.
