RE: WKU fans on Hilltopper Haven
The haven is by far the most delusional irrational message board in the SBC. They will not let anyone other than a Western KY fan post there, which make it impossible for anyone to insert some reality into the madness that you read over there. If you ever need a good laugh go over there and take a look around.

Did you offer them the hamburgers that were cooked 'especially' for a WKU fan?

Just kidding.

WKU football fans are not delusional after the beat down 0-10 record against D1 opponents last year. As a matter of fact, most have a delusional opinion of how bad the Tops may be this year. I think we are very excited to be through the 2 year transition, having a conference championship and bowl game to play for, and a reasonable schedule. Playing 4 BCS conference schools and losing a few other D1 games we could have won took its toll on everyone in 2008.

I think we are more, "wait and see" than delusional. And as stated earlier in this post (I think) many of us are not sold on Elson as the man to take us to the Promised Land. I am one of those people. But I would be just fine to be proven incorrect.

Let me address this "They" stuff. There is no They when it comes to the Haven.
One guy runs it as a private board 99% of the posters do not even know who he is.
The people that post there don't make the rules and we don't say who gets in and who does not get in.
This board just proved to be the most popular board where WKU fans post.
In fact one poster the other day asked if the university sponsored the haven.
It is not sponsored by WKU.

As far as the Homer content of the board, what other place would be favored toward WKU than the Haven. Do you think people would want to go there if everyone came on and said we would not win a single football or basketball game next season.

We have one poster during basketball season "Carolina Topper" that starts the season with going 39-0 and winning the national championship and every week he updates after every game. so if we lost our first game WKU would then be predicted to go 38-1 and win the championship.
None of us that post at the Haven think that we are going to go undefeated, but
its fun to see his posts.

Please say whatever you want on your own message boards. And you have (WKU and Goats) and it does not bother me a bit. The only rational thing I can figure is that if you go on the Haven and copy something from there and then post it here some how that makes your school look better?

One other thing to consider: There most likely are fans from other schools that can post crazy stuff to look like it came from a WKU Fan. When I joined the haven nobody checked to see if I was an actual Alumni or not. There was not any validation process.

I am glad of 2 things. One that we have so many posters on our message board that post even in the off season. And 2 the interest is so high that fans from other schools go there to see what they can dredge up.

Some schools message boards get a post every other month, so I will take this problem. So thank you for telling everyone that we have a delusional irrational message board and telling everyone to take a look around.

Now for my bold prediction on our first WKU Football Season in the SBC.
WKU will not finish Last.

Not sure that is his actual opinion. I think its more of a positive attitude affirmation sort of thing.

I've never visited Hilltopper Haven, but I must admit I like WKU fans a great deal. Hilltopper2k frequents our board and might be more informed than all of us!

If you want delusional, nonsensical crap, try talking to a Razorbacks fan. Everyone on the planet will seem sane after that.

yo zeeeeee.....i don't jest. they seem the least dysfunctional of all of them. of course the rest of us have more reason for dysfunction at times.

i love the layout of your home board but between lee and some of your lack of success your board can get pretty hostile at times. usually when a lsu fan comes aboard.

I'm not sure if it was meant this way, but I read it as the SBC is just a stop over for WKU.

Now IMO, WKU is one of the schools in the SBC that is in a good position for re-alignment if and when it happens, however, I believe that's pending football success both on the field and in the stands.

WKU does have a lot to offer, but if their football woes don't change, I'm not sure they'll continue to be viewed that way.

So I guess the conference has been a stop over for WKU athletics since what 1984? Football woes, geez we have not even started our first season in Div. IA and allowed to compete for a Sun Belt title yet....Let us actually play a real season or two in the Sun Belt before we are labeled as having "football woes"...Its not like the last two seasons we have just gotten killed by SBC teams...Troy, who I would say is the class of SBC football currently, we played tight the last two seasons......We have held our own and competed in every SBC game the last two seasons...Do I think we are going to fly out of the gate and be in the top tier this season in Sun Belt play? No, but I think we are lot closer to being in the top tier then most SBC fans give us credit for.....And even with our doom and gloom outlook for the season among WKU fans, I predict we stay out of last place in the Belt this season.....

WKU gave FAU all lit could handle last year as well.

WKU COULD become a very good team in a few years.

In fact one could say with thier reputation in basketball if they were to develop into a good football team it would enhance the confrence reputation tremendously.

Here is another classic quote I just read from hilltopperhaven.

"Funny.
The most amusing thing to me is that they even have a "media day" for Sun Belt Conference football."

I dont see why WKU fans want to run down the conference they play football in? Especially when their is a very good chance they wont win a conference game this season.

1. the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc.
2. the idea, image, desire, feeling, etc., itself.

Can we amend the definition to include MTSU's obsession with WKU? For example, I went to a MTSU message board for the first time in months and I saw 4 threads about WKU just on the first page. What is it with you guys?

Two words - ***** Envy.

If it weren't for WKU, MUTS fans would have absolutely NOTHING to talk about.

Ever.
