Funny how they always end the tourny on an odd number, Final 5, Final 9, Final 17 ...... but never a Final 1

Not to pile on too much, but their smug fans, the clown Daugherty, etc...needed to be knocked down a peg. XU IS a mid-major, at least under my definition, which is a school not in a power conference, and/or no tradition of multiple final fours and championships. Big East forever, A-10 never.

They'll be "Final 15" this year to me!

I read somewhere that X ranks second amongst teams with the most NCAA tourney appearances without reaching a Final Four. BYU was first.

Not to pile on, but a little facts. First off, noone cares about what happened in the 50's and 60's anymore. Get over it. If you compare histories for the past 20 years, you will discover the following. UC, 1 final four, 2 Elite eights, 1 Sweet 16 (I am not counting final 4 as elites 8, elite 8 as sweet 16, etc.) Xavier, 2 Elite eights, 1 Sweet 16 (same parameters). In the last 10 years, UC 1 sweet 16, Xavier 2 Elite eights. Care to give all those victories back when UC was dominating the "great" midwest. And acting like you're good because you're in a good league that kicks your butt every year is like saying my brother can beat up your brother. Who cares, you still get your butt kicked. How did the CBI treat you last year? How about never beating a higher seed in the NCAA tourney? How did those back to back late season collapses treat you. How'd that coach who mouths off all the time when he has absolutely nothing to back it up treat you. When you talk history, talk recent history, compare programs, and be honest with yourself. One program clearly outperforms the other. UC got hammered by both teams on the floor tonight. It cracks me up how noone cared about UC football until their basketball teams sucked, and all you guys are now "diehard" football fans. Enjoy packing in 5,000 fans every home game in that crappy on campus arena you have next year.

Posts like this knocking X for getting knocked out in the Sweet 16 make us look like little brother obsessing over Big Brother.

As much as it pains me to say. X is in the best shape the program has ever been in. Miller is a hell of a coach and a great recruiter.
His kids play hard for him and play unselfish team basketball.

Hopefully someday we will be able to say that about our Cats again.

No doubt they are the better program right now...doesn't mean we can't enjoy them losing.

exactly, do people honestly expect UC fans to support X? Now that roles are reversed somewhat from the 90's everyone wants UC fans to get behind X b/c they are from cincy yet I dont really remember any X fans supporting UC and giving UC props for another 2nd round exit.

What makes the current time period any different. It would kill UC fans if X went to the final four just the same as it would kill X fans if UC went.

Its called a rivalry, your supposed to hate each other. In no other sport in no other town would the media be asking why one group of fans isnt supporting the rival team. not UNC and Duke, not OSU and Michigan, not the Browns and Steelers but in cincy b/c UC is struggling their fans are all of a sudden supposed to rally around the citys other team and root for them.
