I thought someone new had joined the board, and realized that was my own posts when I was another person. At one point I had to rejoin and I couldn't use the same name. Anyway, new name or not, my feelings are still the same. NCAA, NIT or wait until next season. It's not Little League. Everyone shouldn't get to play. You have to earn your way in, and they pay you to play.

Please see the SLU example of playing the little tournament and getting tournament experience and a couple of ncaa trips.

Those tournaments are proving grounds for the mid major that is trying to make an ncaa. those are tournament games that your kids you are building for, when they are sr's to make the turnament.

Honestly, Our kids never get any tournament experience outside of the one game they play in the sbc tournament and Steve has only coached 17 (I could be off by a few either way) in 10 years.

USA, NT, WKU's kids have played in 17 tournament games in 4 years. Think about that.

Pause and reread that. In ten years WE have played 17 (ish) tournament games.

A kid from NT p.laying for Johnny when they were rolling would have played in 3 to 5 tournament games a year. so is 4 years most of those kids played in 12 tournament games (sbc and ncaa). Steve life time is probably about 17 in 10 plus years.

I can't say what Steve can or cannot do until this season is over. Granted his tournament record through the years has been dismal to say the least, but this could be a breakout year.
You never know. I'm certainly going to give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. If we have another third or fourth place finish and go out in the first round of the tournament, then I'll be lying if I said I wasn't ready for Chris to make a change. But I'm not bashing Steve. I hope he proves everyone wrong and has a great year and wins everything and goes to the big dance.

How long does your benefit of the doubt run? That's why he's still here. He's a nice guy who deserves about a dozen benefits of doubt. If he should luck out and win it this year, you guys will be willing for him to stay here forever. You'll have to have your halftime talks with the ghosts because I'll be doing something else on game nights.

What I'm saying is that he's here for this season. And since the season hasn't even started I'd like to be somewhat optimistic that we'll have a good year. If we don't rise above mediocrity with the team we'll have this year, then change should be strongly considered.

What we think doesn't matter anyway.

This year we better go somewhere.
