(3) Halftime adjustments

(4) Hiring assistant coaches that make you look like a genius (see Bear Bryant)

(5) Not backing down from anybody...especially Jackie Sherrill (still gives me chills)

You are spot on with this comment. We have yet to really see this new crop of assistance, but if they are the real deal, then we will see improvement soon. I am rooting for them to do well, I always hold my head up high with my TIGERS, but I don't want to have to back down from smack talk with other fans anymore.

RE: Two Signs of Good Coaching
had to jump in there huh Dak? What if you win the conf and don't have a so called top 50 recruiting class? Isn't that all subjective? It is amazingly diffiuclt to tell how a HS player will translate to college. Even a JC player--ask our Miss about that--

Kind of like right now. Of course if I had more than a handful of people here this week it might make finding someone to help make a decision a little easier.

A third sign would be winning the games you are supposed to win. It looks like that is starting to come together as well. A bowl win over the SunBelt champ would make me happier than a turkey on the Friday after Thanksgiving.

RE: Two Signs of Good Coaching
TW's contract expires at the end of next season right? Or is it the next? Anyway, if we beat Troy in NO and then win our conference championship the next year I will eat crow at publicly apologize to everyone of you. I doubt that happens though, and I know that if we lose to Troy and once again don't compete for out conference championship and settle for another NO bowl you people will still have your heads up TW's butt. Anyway, if Tommy can't do either of those things his contract doesn't need to be renewed.
