In some (not all, but I would venture to say most) cases, a good porn mag could do wonders in prevented unwanted and unsupportable children.
In your case, it may be responsible to have oodles of kids; on the average, however, it isn't.
I would wager that Grey Beard's kids are both wanted and supported, however.
You know that I generally agree that those who have kids are usually the ones who shouldn't, but from what I have read of GB, he does not seem like the sort who'll enjoy having them pop out and then live in poverty or in a similar bad situation.
Actually, two of my kids are with me at work today (take your kids to work day). The third, my 1 year old, is home with his mother. He would have wrecked this place.
I need to add that my oldest is scheduled for his sheet fitting tomorrow. ;-)
Oh, that's cold.

Alright, so I finished the Lewis book and I'm about halfway through Stand on Zanzibar Good book, but not the easiest read.
So, currently on deck I'm going to choose between Moonchild by Aleister Crowley or Random Family by Adrian Nicole LeBlanc or possibly something else. I already have a copy of Moonchild, so that is the most likely.

Muhammad, his life based on the earliest sources
by Martin Lings
I've read some opinion stuff by this huy which I didn't agree with, but the story telling in this is very good.
As for recommendations: I Wonder as I Wander, Langston Hughes

Last book was Skeletons on the Zahara - about an American shipwreck off the coast of Africa, and how the crew fares after being captured by desert natives. very brutal read.
Current read is Manhunt - aabout the search for John Wilkes Booth after the Lincoln assasination. fascinating so far.

Bump.
Bought half way through Desolation Angels by Jack Kerouac. Uhm, Kerouac may be the finest writer outside Orwell IMO. I haven't read On the Road, yet, have heard so much about Jack adn the Beat Generation, and I picked this book up because I fell in love with the jacket. It's all about the role religion might have played with the "Beat" gang. He's such a vivid, interprative storyteller. And the stories he tells! Getting drunk and going to horse races with poets might not sound appealing, but it's sooo funny and sooo insightful. YOu can just picture what everybody looks like, and how (these poets he's freinds with are unique cats) everybody acts. It's a picture, these words his writes, I can't put this book down. Beautiful, gorgeous, amazing. Love Kerouac. You died tooo soon.

yeah its good. if you gonna get into the books, you should read them in order. they are not stand alone issues. each book builds on the next with the stories being approved by Lucas so they are as cannon as the movies.
Truce at Bakura (or something) takes place right after the last movie. start there!

I've had a busy reading period since this thread went dead. My love affair with Kerouac continues. Desolation Angels was outstanding. On the Road was incredible. Dharma Bums might take the cake. Started Visions of Cody today, can't wait to get into it. I also got into some prophetical novels:
1984
Fahrenheit 451
Brave New World
1984 was by far my favorite, though 451 was awesome as well. I love how both novels end, and 451 leaves many questions unanswered. Brave New World was good, but not as good as the other two.
Down and out in Paris and London- George Orwell. Outstanding.
Seize the Day- Saul Bellow

did you land up reading it? Star Wars geek myself and have been reading the books. Started with labyrinth of evil and dark lord which take place directly before and after episode III. Then started in order after ROTJ with truce at Bakura and have been working on them since.

rteynor Wrote:Angels & Demons was the best Dan Brown book. Hands down. Digital Fortess was a joke, and Deception Point was even worse.
I enjoyed Deception Point. It's not exactly deep-thought material (it's more summer action-flickish), but it kept me interested through the end.
Of course, the subject matter itself interests me even before I picked up the book: NASA, astronomy, politics.
