Yeah I've heard the "only gay guys like musicals" stereotypes, and I think it is BS.

I love musicals. Well, I love music in general, but musicals are just great. Phantom of the Opera is my favorite, but Les Miz, The Beautiful Game and Godspell are awesome, too. I also like a couple songs in A funny thing happened on the way to the forum, and the producers. Anyone else love musicals? I would love to see some of these on broadway someday... :dream:

What did I say that makes you think I'm a homosexual?

I just am a huge music lover. I wake up an hour earlier each morning so I can sing in a voluntary school choir before school in which I get no extra credit benefit from. Chris Hobbs went to my high school, sang in choir for the 2 years he was at East, and my choral director said he loved musicals. I know I wouldn't tell Chris Hobbs that he was homosexual (he's hetero) to his face! I value my life. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" />

But, I am very surprised at the responses to my post. I think 95% of stereotypes are unfair, and this one just blows my mind.

OK, I will come to Nates defense. I am a musical lover myself. I also sing, and enjoy it quite a bit. West Side Story, Oliver and Fiddler on the Roof are three of my favorites. I have never been, or do I anticipate, being attracted to a man. Well, I did think Chrissy Laettner was sorta sweet looking, but that was his and Brian's problem. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" /> As far as the "gay" thing, I am not that closed minded. Nate, I don't think you even needed to add this to your post.

I am too young to know any of the old school ones you named, Rick, but I have heard that they are all really good. I also could never see myself attracted to another man. I think Mel Gibson has gorgeous eyes, though, but I am secure enough about my masculinity (don't laugh) to say that another man is handsome. I don't find that homosexual at all.

Back to the subject, Rick, have you heard the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical about Ireland/Northern Ireland conflicts related to soccer called, The Beautiful Game? It's really great, but what else do you expect from Lloyd Webber? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

I remember a game in '88 or '89, Duke at Tech, and some of the Tech students held up a sign that said "Ferry Swallows" <img border="0" alt="[Laughing]" title="" src="graemlins/laughing.gif" /> The whole place was roaring. Even Coach K saw it (while the camera was on him)...his eyes got really big, then all he could do was just shake his head.

That's awesome, Stacie! The time slot is horrible, but the class is tons of fun. I'm probably going to do the show choir at our school next year. Show choirs are so fun.
