Man, the Cubs must be really good when they beat a team that lost more games than them last year! Even though the Cubs won by more runs versus their oponent i would look at that as a negative. White Sox gave up 4 runs to a team that won 93 games last year, while the Cubs gave up 7 to a bad team. Obviously shows you the disparity between White Sox pitching (superior) to the Cubs' pitching (inferior). Good luck scoring 8 runs every game if your pitchers give up 7 runs every game. Also, Zambrano is your best pitcher considering injury-prone Wood and Prior are on the DL as usual.

everything positive so far on this game besides Z's effort and Williamson's lack of control. Besides that, Ohman and Eyre cleaned up pretty big jams and the offense has exploded today..especially Murton and Walker.

Good thing the Cubs picked up some ex-White Sox pitchers, huh? Smartest move they could have made!

The NL Central Championship goes through St. Louis!

How the hell you get to be a cards fan? I know you live in the middle of the state, but damn man! 04-chairshot

Haha. Bloomington-Normal (my hometown) is known as the borderline of Cubs and Card territory. It's split 50-50 Cards and Cubs fans. .

Until I came to NIU, I had no idea Sox fans existed.

Why am I a Cardinal fan? I was raised one. Both my parents are Cardinals fans.

yeah even though the Reds actually have an offense..everyone that watches baseball knows that the reason the Reds suck is because they have AAA pitchers.

i highly doubt the Cubs will give up 7 runs every game. And you don't need to tell me Z is our best pitcher, I've known that for the last 2 years.

So now what you're telling me is the Cubs did so well because they went against AAA pitchers? Now i understand. Maybe they should try going against Cleveland who has real pitchers and posted a 3.61 ERA last season. Also, the Indians' batting average last season was .271 compared to the Reds' .261.

Let me first state that I am neither a Cub nor a Sox fan.

Are you trying to prove that the Sox are better than the cubs based on the first game of the season? lmfao

If I were you, I'd stick to the "hey, we won the World Series last year" pitch.

What's there to prove! Everyone KNOWS this to be true. Even the Cubs fans i know admit the White Sox are better. Btw, that's not my pitch. I prefer to stick to facts. I've posted many of them, and you have yet to refute any of them! Thank you for playing, and better luck next time...

LOL. Saying "oh well the Sox beat the Indians who batted 10 points higher than the Reds means that the Sox are better than the cubs" is just ignorant! It's a 165 game season!

What if the Sox lose tomorrow and the Cubs win? Does that make the Cubs better?

Do I think the Sox are better than the Cubs? Yes. Do I like your reasoning? .... no!

1.01
Baseball is a game between two teams of nine players each, under direction of a manager, played on an enclosed field in accordance with these rules, under jurisdiction of one or more umpires.

the american league is an abomination of the rules and has been for 30+ years.

Hmm, if i remember correctly when the White Sox played the WS they didn't have a DH, yet still swept a NL team. So much for those rules being the reason why the AL isn't the best. Give me a break, AL is a lot tougher than the NL. AL was 136-116 vs N.L. in 2005. Overall, the AL has posted a better record than the NL.

Actually, both teams use a DH for the games played in the American League ballpark.

Those sox fans sure know their baseball!

GO CUBS!

There were no DH's in the WS game. Only numbers that matter 136-116. AL>NL

where did I say the Cubs are better than the White Sox??? It's a no brainer the Sox are better than the Cubs this year..they have a real solid rotation, and their offense is improved from last years team as well. You said the Cubs gave up 7 runs to a "bad team." The Reds may be a bad team overall, but their offense is very good.

i do agree with you that the AL is better than the NL. The White Sox, A's, Yankees, Red Sox, and probably even the Indians are better than the Cardinals.

You're a very insecure man... Your team is the world champs yet you still feel the need to claim your team is better?

Here's a fact for you:
2004- No Sox fans
Last year- Everyone is a Sox fan
Once all the WS hoopla is over - No Sox fans
