That doesn't surprise me. You are a Toledo fan. It shows you already have bad taste in teams to cheer for. ;-)

so after yet ANOTHER blow out loss, does anyone think that Busty will be fired? The Cubs do have an off day tomorrow and today was the first time in the long history of the franchise where they have been swept in a seaon series. I think some change is going to happen...whether it will be firing Gene Clines, but Hendry HAS to do something to shake this team up. This team has too much talent to be doing so damn bad.

Wouldn't surprise me if Dusty is fired tomorrow. You almost have to do something.

Yes and no - our lineup is terrible, but the manager is the one held accountable.

U nl boys just keep enjoying your minor league baseball, when October comes you will be facing a major league team; it may not be the WS but be assured you'll get a butt whipping. Last 38 World Series Titles and All Star Games: AL 27 NL 11, Last 19 World Series: AL 12 NL 7. No more need be said. 02-13-banana 04-rock

White Sox first AL team to 25 wins!
Even without Pierzynski and Dye the White Sox beat the Twins 6-3 in the twinkie dome this afternoon! 02-13-banana 02-13-banana 04-bow 04-bow 04-rock

Can't wait for that City Series this weekend, with success on Tues and Wed the White Sox have a great shot at 30 wins by end of next Sunday. 02-13-banana 04-jawdrop 04-bow 04-rock

Flames I have to disagree with the comment that the cubs have too much talent to be that bad. Do they really? I mean.. Todd Walker plays first base for you. Neifi Perez.. plays at all.. Murton, Pierre, Jones is your starting OF. and Ronny Cedeno starts at SS.

You have two solid major league players in the line up Barrett, Ramirez and both of them are awful on defense (even if Ramirez only has one error he still is bad.) (possibly 3 if Pierre decides he will hit the ball again) I don't think you can expect a team with that terrible of a line up and three Starting Pitchers on the DL to do well (Wood, Prior, W. Miller).

as was stated many times AS games are meaningless, they only tried to add meaninghte last 3 years. Anything before that is irrelevant. And even the last 3 years the idea is stupid.

What good would that do? They aren't "cheap" like everyone says. It isn't like they don't spend a crapload of money for the crappy players and management. Players and management are the problem.

i guess i was looking at it more from the trib's standpoint. personally, i think its retarded they even own the club. it creates a conflict of interest that shouldnt exist in their field. what business does a newspaper have owning a baseball team anyway, especially in the current climate of the newspaper industry? and considering how the trib is struggling, now wouldnt be all that bad of a time to unload. but of course theyre way too stubborn to do that.

With the way both teams are playing, the Sox should win all 3 games by a combined run total of 30-1 in favor of the Sox. BUT, you never know what is going to happen in these games. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cubs were to take 2 of 3.

how would it benefit the trib to sell the cubs, sure its a cash infusion, but its a *major* asset loss. the cubs bring in buckets of revenue to support the strugling newspaper biz.
