2. (For anybody): The CAA announcers were talking about how the CAA tourney will be in Wilmington next year, and then at Elon some time after that. So, has the tourney ever been played at Plumeri? I seem to remember after it was first built that I thought that the tourney might be there -- but it wasn't, right away, if ever at all. I've never attended a game at Plumeri but it sure looks better than that dumpy field at JMU that we've been watching on TV the last few days (Hefty trash bags in the outfield, really?). So is it because W&M refuses to pony up the money to host?

As for question 1 - I am not privy to the budget, so I have no idea if they can afford a Rapsodo type system. However, I can say that to date we are "purposefully refusing to keep up with the times and our peers". The players have attempted to use their own handheld camcorders and aps on their phones and that was shut down by the coach.

Question 2 - Someone else can probably answer better than I can - but I have asked this very same question and I have been told that as fabulous as Plumeri is, it does meet the CAA requirements for a tournament. I am not sure in what regard (i.e. seating, parking, media coverage), but I have been told we would need to make significant changes. I have to assume they wouldn't be worth the cost.

Thanks -- I have always thought it strange that we never hosted the tournament. Sounds somewhat like what happened with Busch Field for about the first 10-15 years. Besides the fact that it was apparently so great, for many years the NCAA refused to let the men or women soccer teams host any playoff games. We had to go down to Foreman Field in Norfolk to "host". Eventually something happened that allowed us to host at Busch.
