Lots o' construction progress is being made and the current Convo is one year away from being a dinosaur, but it looks like there will not be retractable seating surrounding the court. The initial construction was a teaser when the steel frames for seating stopped about 8 feet above the floor. Now they have added permanent concrete supports from the floor up. 01-lauramac2

I guess you could still have students surrounding the court in permanent seating, but the forecast is looking grim.

I don’t get your “forecast”...depending on where these supports for seating are located in the bowl it may or may not impact any plans for retractable seating, AND besides, permanent, fixed seating next to the court always trump’s retractable seating. The only thing not having retractable seating would compromise is the ability of the floor to be configured for other events other than basketball. A final decision where students will sit has yet to be announced.
