RE: If the SEC did expand again and did so from the ACC who should we take and why?
In Xlance's scenario, if it did happen, I think you would see UConn added in the east to make each division 10. ESPN has been getting a lot of pressure from the State of Connecticut to find a power conference home for UConn. ND's pride might not let them join that conference even though it would be the best fit.

I agree with JRSec about NC. Four schools in NC is a drain on any conference. The ACC would be better off letting 2 go (WF, Duke, or NCST). It would not decrease the overall ACC payout and each school's shares would be higher with 2 less leeches. If the ACC falters I can't see any conference taking more than 2 from NC (1 would be ideal) and WF, with $48M in gross AD revenue, which for a power school is horrible (IMO anything under $60M is bad...$70M soon with playoff shares), is probably, deservedly, left out. VA is doable with 2 though 1 is ideal, as is FL obviously (3 would probably the max for FL and 2 is ideal IMO). For the B12, really OK and KS are too small for more than 1 and in TX (and CA) four schools is doable due to their large populations, but decreasing that number to 3 or 2 would be much better.

Something interesting about the PAC in 2010. I have seen several PAC posters on other boards claim that in 2010 when A&M got cold feet that is was not Utah vs KU for that spot (the common assumption), but KU and Utah for that spot and OSU's spot. I guess the PAC did not want to double up in OK and HATED OSU's academics, according to these posters. Makes a lot of sense. I know UT hated A&M not going, but the other 4 could have left and Texas probably goes along with it as well, but if OU is not happy as well (OSU not being included), then that deal was never going to happen.

The 2011 PAC/OU dance was about playing chicken with Texas to force them to move and Texas never blinked. I think the PAC/OU knew that if UT failed to fall for the bluff, that the PAC could not afford adding OSU along with OU. If OU was serious about moving to the PAC without Texas, they would have teamed up with KU or TTU IMO. Those combos would have been harder for the PAC to pass on.

Note: We really need some PAC posters here to add their perspective on things. The SEC/B12/B1G/ACC are pretty well covered.
