The understanding we have is that the guy who won the auction is a 25 year old entrepreneur from the New York City area. He has no ties to Arkansas State, and has never attended an ASU athletic function before. He will pay $11,700 to the Red Wolves Foundation for the opportunity to coach the game.

What's better than free publicity?

Publicity someone pays you $12,000 to give you. Jealous.

The fun part is the Publicity. The guy who did the original story has been going on and on about what a great idea this is. Its a way for a G5 College Football Program, with limited National Exposure to open itself up publicly to fans across the country, who would never normally have the opportunity to donate.

Its very new, and will probably never work at a big school because all the Big Money Boosters would be upset that they were bidding with non fans. But at ASU, its a perfect fit. We don't have big money boosters, so this is an opportunity win new fans.

You consider 12,000 big money? No wonder we have HUD for six years and you will be on your 5th coach.
