A girl visiting my kin in Memphis this past week is a Maryville grad and is now on athletic scholarship at Stetson in Florida. She knew Dylan and said he is a very good athlete, but indicated that UAB might find it challenging to keep him academically eligible. Of course, this is nothing new for many gifted athletes who get into college, but may explain why some D1 FBS schools did not pursue him.
