Three of the losses to Clemson, Tenn & Georgia and his first four as a true freshman. Since the Liberty game he is 27-6, 20-2 vs the Sunbelt.

The main reason we couldn't run or throw the ball - the Georgia Defense.
The App defense had 45 plays where they gave up 3 yards or less. That's an impressive stat against a really good SEC team. On the long gains we had some breakdowns and on 3 of their long runs some holding - as noted by ESPN announcers - that was not called.

App fans need to temper their expectations with the reality we're in our 4th season of FBS.

The thing about opinions is that everyone as one, and no one has a monopoly on the best perception of a situation.

The SBC and AppState are building thier brand. I personally don't think it helps to take a beating and then go undefeated in conference play. The perceived conference strength is why our SOS is so low this year. We should focus on high end G5's and lower end P5's until we have the talent to hang all 4 quarters with the likes of UGA, PSU, Clemson, VT, etc.

As for Taylor, he is not off limits for criticism because he QB's a team that has won a lot of games during his tenure. I think Taylor himself would acknowledge his weaknesses. The announcers calling the GA game I believe described Taylor as having "a slow wind-up". These things are not new. I think he is a great leader and a great representative of AppState, but he overachieves vs. his talent level. That's a tremendous credit to him in my opinion, but it also limits us and there is nothing wrong with saying it. It's why after watching TL play for 4 years I cringe when someone suggests he throw a long ball. I think I can count on one hand how many deep balls were caught with the receiver in stride.

I don't see any one on this board being hyper critical of Taylor the way folks on Yosef tend to be (which is why I think DG is getting so hyped on the subject here). Taylor is a quality quarterback for G5 competition and wins with his mind. He has admitted as much when discussing his style of play.

Pointing out his limitations is not necessarily criticizing as much as it is analyzing where deficiencies currently are with this team, and more specifically, the offense. Again, App hasn't had a legitimate threat to go deep since Sean Price was dismissed and a lot of that is due to the step up in competition.

The crux of this particular game was twofold: the receivers were unable to get open on deep routes and Taylor was unable to step up in the pocket due to pressure up the middle. Personally, I think the running game would've been more effective had he kept the ball more often. As I stated previously, despite the "big, athletic, rangy" outside linebackers of UGA, Lamb managed to average 10 yards per carry (sans the fumble).
To begin, I left the MMB several years ago. Far too much lunacy over there for me. Secondly, having an opinion about what you perceive in someone's ability is fine. My issue is with analysis of game plans and plays without fully understanding the decision making process. Unlike golf, baseball, basketball ect, today's football (esp the passing game) is very complex. Formations, rush packages , how coverages are disguised, changed and react to routes all affect the success or lack thereof a play. Not to mention how the strengths and weaknesses of your personel againt the guy across from them figures into decisions. My point being is this isn't as simple as some try to make it out. Although most of us have a rudimentary understanding of the game, we would have a difficult time grasping what is going on in gameplanning. Please be very clear, I'm not implying I am any more knowledgeable than anyone else here. But I do know from past experiences it's not as cut and dry as many seem to want to make it.
