I thought with that close lose to UofM that we would get over 2000 per game. Now we'll be lucky to get a thousand fans if we're Lucky.

I know Winthrop is good in their league, and we need to work out the kinks on our team, but this is just sorry.

The Lions were losing like crazy, until they started winning.
We will need to se how this plays out. I have no idea, BUT normally talent wins.

His career record I always questioned when we hired him! Now 219-234, minus the gift Kent St year, 189-226! At EMU 11-26! 9-24 versus D1 teams! Getting blown out by Winthrop! We were dreaming about winning the MAC with this team...........

Forgot we were playing again today. Guess I’m glad there’s no easy way to watch it. Sorry to anyone who paid for that streaming service.

I agree here. I expected more, but this is a super young and inexperienced team. I’ll hold legit judgment until the OOC portion of the schedule is done, but this has definitely been a disappointing start.

There is more that we don't understand.
This team gives 100% vs. UofM and Oakland then comes up empty.
Giving up 100 points means the team quit or ran out of energy or whatever. ,this isn't really a deep team.

Winthrop shot 65% from the field. How is that even possible? I can’t remember ever seeing a number like that in an EMU game.
87 points should be enough to win a D1 game. I don’t know what has to change defensively, but it obviously needs to be pretty drastic.

Or we play zero defense, use our hands, and get in foul trouble.

We've given up 88, 92, 89, 101 points in our games! We're 1-5, and our only W was against A D2 school! This is the G league EMU Eagles! ZERO defense!

I am with you Sam and Steve. Definitely not writing off the season. But to say this is a disappointing start feels like a significant understatement. (Not saying you said this, just trying to express my sentiment)

I was totally wrong about no more than 2 non conference losses o. I should have said wins instead. We lost by double digits to Winthrop. WINTHROP. Let that sink in. Wow give me guys like Nazione Bond or Spottsville who gave a crap over this crew. This team just seems too interested in filling out their offensive individual stat sheet than playing as a team to win. Of course to win you have to play defense. I haven't seen that so far last year. Last year's team was way below this one's talent level but they had way more scrap and toughness in them.

I told you! Pro offense pro defense. We are lucky to only to have one game where we given up 100 points. There could have been 2 more. Swipe at them as they go by defense.

Bunch of individuals trying to put up huge stats for their next stops.
Crummy basketball. The worst kind. They function like a 10 win NBA team.

"Disappointing" is probably too mild of a description.
Still this team is incredibly young, and they have played 5 of 6 games away from home, a clear departure from the past.

So true on all accounts.
But one can add that EMU is repeating last season when EMU did not stop the three-ball nor defend the rim. Randle should play more as he's EMU's best interior player.
EMU's offense has been decent. Acuff's 25 points, including shooting 10-12 on two's was impressive, but he should refrain from jacking-up three's when he's off (1-7 on three's against Winthrop). Bates should set up in the high post, pump fake sometimes, and drive more to the hoop from there as he's settling for two-point jumpers that he converts at a low rate. Noah should be going to the foul-line more to receive a pass when ball is on the other side of the court as he to should be driving from there, rather than settling for so many 2-point jumpers.
Nice to see Legend and Golson combining for 12-offensive rebounds.
