I'm surprised he cleared waivers given the amount of teams that wanted to sign him as an UDFA
Teams were permitted 16 players on the Practice Squad instead of the usual 10. Each week they are also permitted to protect 4 of them from being poached. Week 1 the Cowboys are going with:
Cowboys protected practice squad players in week 1: LB Francis Bernard, DB Deante Burton, DE Ron'Dell Carter, and RB Sewo Olonilua.
They clearly like Carter a lot with the guaranteed money he got. I think the most guaranteed money for a UDFA given out by them. Carter was special on his own but it has to help bring attention to other guys when your QB is a potential draft/priority free agent guy.

We got a callout in the FCS section for having the most. Also interesting to see who we tied and are ahead of as far as FBS teams:
7: ASU, Baylor, BYU, CSU, NW, SDSU, Syracuse, Washington
6: Duke, GT, USF, WKU
5: Appy, Arizona, GSU, ISU, KSU, Marshall, NIU, West Mich
Not going to analyze it right now, but nearly all of the schools with more than 7 are P5. For JMU to start the season with 7 on rosters and a couple more that could be called up at any point during the season is incredibly impressive. It used to be that having 2-3 was exciting.
So you're saying Vad Lee should have had to sit out a year since he transferred up to JMU as a non-graduate transfer.

That may be true, but whether they were on active rosters all at the same tine would take some research. I recall Watford was bouncing around a bit, as well as a couple others. Even still, it’s a sign of a strong program.

Yeah, Rashard wasn't promoted to active until Dec 23. Ish was promoted on Dec 15 and then moved back down on Dec 24. Stinnie moved from the Titans to Bucs mid-season, but only had one full day off a roster. I think the rest were on rosters full time last year. So it looks like we probably started with the same number last season. Could potentially have double digits at some point this year if a few guys can move up during the year.

If Dylan did not get hurt, I felt he was going to make the roster with the Titans. He really grew by leaps and bounds during his two years at JMU into a player with NFL size and good hands. He is the perfect TE because he can play all three downs.
Hopefully his injury isn’t career ending. It worries me that the Titans gave him an injury settlement instead of placing him on the season ending IR.

Texans, and while I thought they liked what they saw I was thinking he was headed to the Practice Squad. Here’s to hoping he rehabs and lands on somebody’s PS.

Jimmy listed as 2nd string behind Fuller, but I think he'll likely be the 1st Nickel/Dime back when they are in that coverage.
I wish they'd let the F'n One return punts. Of course, it would mean the WFT (not to be confused with WTF) has to stop the opposition to force a punt. *SIGH*

I'm glad he doesn't because knowing the WFT karma bad things would happen.

Starting corner, Kendall Fuller, will miss today's WFT game due to a knee injury. This opens the door for JF'nM to potentially draw the start in his place.

JMUs Jimmy Moreland picks off NDSUs Carson Wentz, and was a shoe-string tackle away from bringing it back for 6
We didn't get college football this week boys, so this is about as good as it gets

Just read the DNR article on our players in the NFL. Looks like the final count is 7 Dukes on NFL rosters. That is a lot for an FCS school.
Green was hurt, Stinnie and Dinucci inactive. Marlowe and Brown played special teams only. Jimmy was the only starter. Wells was active but did not play.
Jimmy obviously was the JMU star of the day with a pick and six tackles.

Greene is set to be a big contributor once he gets over his injury. He has been bit by the injury bug the last few years but if he can stay healthy he is expected to play a lot in the Packers scheme as a hybrid LB/S.

Jimmy so far has been hit or miss. He makes some of the best plays and some of the worst plays on defense. He's made some great tackles, and plays on balls, and at times has been beaten badly. Yes, that is the life of a corner, but his highs and lows seem to be a bit more than most NFL corners.
