Been listing to info about Jimmy this week in DC, and he's not taken a lot of blame for issues within the secondary. He appears to be solidly in the top 3 at this point. The only question appears to be when Fuller returns - which will be corner and which will be slot?

If Fuller is 100%, then he is the starting corner. WFT signed him at $40M for 4 years with expectations he would be the top CB. The F'n One will still get plenty of PT and likely be as you included the #1 slot corner in nickel/dime packages.

In prior years I would of agreed with you. With this new coaching staff, they have showed a willingness to make these kind of changes. I think they will select the player they think is playing best at corner. Jimmy being younger, could be a benefit for him. At this point both will see a lot of playing time.

Fuller is only 6 months older than Moreland.

RE: #ProDukes
It just occurred to me, there are 3 QBs in the NFL (that I know of off the top of my head) who lost games to JMU:

Tyrod Taylor
Gardner Minshew
Easton Stick

And both Taylor and Stick play for the Chargers.

EDIT: Until he was released yesterday, Kyle Lauletta was the 4th.

EDIT #2: And of course, Joe Flacco makes 5.

Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports via the players agent that Ron'Dell terminated his contract with the Cowboys after being protected for the first 3 weeks of the season. He intends to sign with the Colts 53-man roster. They did not protect him for Week 4, so that is where the Colts stepped in.

So much for the $145K we really like you here in Dallas, get familiar with the NFL and you'll have your shot.

Hope he’s a done deal in Indy, hate to see him get caught in between and lost in the shuffle, would look bad for him if Indy gets cold feet and he’s left in limbo. And teams claim players all the time off other teams PS, why did he have to terminate his Dallas contract to get with Indy?

Much easier to pull for Ron'Dell now that he's not in Jerry World, too bad that Nooch is there & not somewhere else.

I’m sure it would have been great for Rondell to break into the depth chart and active roster for Dallas but I believe he still receives his guaranteed money (most of the UDFA’s in Dallas) and gets a good shot in Indy. I have already seen a lot of Cowboy fans complaining that they invested in Rondell and have nothing do show for it/he didn’t get a chance. Happy for him and hope he gets the shot he deserves. I do not know a lot about the roster at Indy but one familiar face is Mo-Alie Cox from VCU. He’s a great example of a UDFA who got his time to develop and is definitely making an impact now.

Dallas protected him the first few weeks. I believe he was not on the protected list this past week and Indy jumped at the opportunity

So the way it works the protections go in place on Tuesday and the Colts made the move prior to that and Rondell has to agree. It was not that Dallas did not want to protect him it is that they couldn't based on timing. From article:

"Protections go into effect on Tuesday, but the Colts moved to snag Carter before that point. Carter’s agent told multiple reporters that his client agreed to make the move to Indianapolis."

He’s on the Colt’s active 53 man roster now. What’s that make the JMU alum count on active rosters? It’s gotta be an all-time record for the program.

I think 8. Stinnie, Wells, Nooch, Moreland, Brown, Marlowe, Green and Carter. If Dylan doesn’t get hurt, he is on a roster too.

That’s just phenomenal. Equal to, or in many, many instances, greater than most G5 programs.

That kind of success will continue to attract recruits and transfers.

I don't know much about the Colts roster, but it might have been midseason or more before he made it to the active roster for Dallas; their holes are on the O-line and the linebacking corps, not the D-line. If you have a chance to take actual gametime snaps (and most teams end up using every player on the 53-man during a game except the backup QB for at least a few snaps) most players would jump at it.

You are correct that DE is a strongpoint on paper, but performance so far other Aldon Smith has been horrible. He would have gotten a shot at some point. Agree that a bird in hand (the Colts spot) was a better move. It is real money as well as the difference between league min and practice squad is about 25k a week.

Raven with a SACK on MNF! He also tied for the team lead in tackles (8 total /5 solo) last night.
