Re: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread - mrjoolius - 01-26-2015 09:44 PM

Kris Hooper tweeted :
" Proud to announce I'm going to be playing D1 football at William and Mary! #GOTRIBE"

I believe we recruited him as a kicker. 5'11 175lbs. Probably a preferred walk on.

Bump to top & update

If so, why would have visit AFTER committing?

To confirm his choice in his own mind before he signs? To absorb some of the atmosphere of the campus? To meet some of his new team mates? To confound you?

Wonder if this guy wants to come East to play some ball?

Im not sure if the coaches want another qb in this class, but that is crazy that he hasn't generated any serious interest. Especially at the FCS or D2 level.

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread - Tribal - 01-29-2015 11:02 AM

That is nuts, however; he may not have the foreign language or some other requirement to gain admission to W&M.

Maybe someone should tweet this to Keven Rogers' new Twitter account.

There are no longer foreign language requirements good to have but not record

I believe they dropped most requirements to work with homeschooled kids

One of the best women's tennis players we had in past years was homeschooled

Since when? That cost us a recruit last year.

Probably five years or so. You can check the william Mary website to see that there basically are few if any requirements

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread - Tribal - 01-29-2015 11:18 AM

Welp, we lost a recruit last year because he had not fulfilled our foreign language requirement.

Could it have been English as a foreign language? We do recruit in NJ...

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread - wml33t - 01-29-2015 11:49 AM

Yeah, not sure what you're specifically referencing Tribal but I don't remember there being a foreign language "requirement" when I started in 97. There was a requirement to graduate from W&M that you could have met by HS classes if you did 4 years, but I don't remember anything requiring you to have xyz foreign language.

I did 3 years in HS and then had to take college credits because I didn't do 4 years.

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread - TDenverFan - 01-29-2015 01:06 PM

I barely took any foreign language in high school and I got in. I don't think they have it as a requirement anymore, just a recommendation

RE: 2015 Football Recruiting Thread - zablenoise - 01-29-2015 05:20 PM

Hell I took a dead language in high school and they still let me in

I think dead languages give you bonus points at WM!

Hey!

:-)

I guess the South lost to, and was occupied by, a foreign power in 1865?
