I'm glad Wilkerson returned. We will see what happens with Davon Barnes. But Sam Houston should be pretty solid going into the 2024-25 season.

He currently holds a few SEC and Big East offers, so not overly optimistic on his return. Mudge picked up a Kansas State transfer guard, 6’5 Dorian Finister this weekend, who apparently had some flashes in the XII. We’ll see.

Barnes commits to Ole Miss, who SHSU nearly knocked off this season. He’ll do well for the Beard and the Rebs.

Don’t think it’s been mentioned yet in here, WKU’s Brandon Newman hit the portal this week.

Coach Hooten picked up his first transfer of the offseason. Scoring guard Dionte Bostick from Cal State Northridge.

Averaged 15 PPG at CSUN this past year, played two seasons at Murray State. 45/34/69 shooting splits. Interesting pickup for the Aggies.

Portal rule change that most were not aware of---- Grad students must ALSO enter the portal by midnight MAY 1st.

Previously they could enter ANY time before the Fall enrollment date.

Of course--they still don't have to commit to a school clear up to the Fall enrollment date.

And yes players in the portal Can return to their school--BUT the school is Not obligated to take them back.

Remember some schools don't release that info to the public right away--so some names may not be public till 2-4 business days following May 1st.

Jax St.'s KyKy Tandy enters the portal. Hard to believe he has eligibility left--but he does.

Aggies pick up a 6'7 forward from Maine, Peter Filipovity. Looks crafty around the basket. He's probably not a guy that, athletically speaking, is going to wow many folks but he has posted good numbers on a D1 roster.

SHSU adds Utah State transfer 6’11 French F Kalifa Sakho. He’s got two years of eligibility. Was a fringe rotation player at USU (10.7 MPG) but shot fairly well and should factor into Mudge’s rotation next season.

Tandy is definitely gone. He was on campus at FAU yesterday.

Other notable schools who have expressed interest reportedly: Oklahoma, Auburn, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Tulsa. KyKy in high demand.
