Anthony Wrzeszcz, Lewis Rowe and Derrick Brown all transferring. Only Wrzeszcz saw any real playing time this year of the three, he was a fringe rotational guy throughout conference play.

As you stated, no real loss with these guys. They rarely played and had little or no impact on SHSU's success this season.

Need to start including a stat line next to transfers (both in and out) so we have a better idea of how good/bad the changes are.

RE: Conference players in the transfer portal
What is the most up to date/most comprehensive source for transfer portal info? The source i used looked OK because it had a large number of players listed in it (around 380) and it listed the dates they entered. But I didn’t see all of these players. I was using on3.com and it had people listed up to current date.

NMSU's Yaak Yaak has entered the portal. Didn't play much.

GP: 15 (0 games started)
3.8 Min / game
0.5 ppg

Neither Gary or Bradford (mentioned above) saw any playing time this year and left before they were eligible.

GO AGGIES!!!

One of Sam’s transferring players was a walk-on so… ya doubt all of these guys find homes, much less D1 homes.

Will be curious to see where Arturo Dean and Jestin Porter end up.

RE: Conference players in the transfer portal
Can add second team all-conference G Davon Barnes. That’s a key player with a year of eligibility left whose loss will be felt by SHSU. 13.5 PPG, 3.5 REB, 2 APG on efficient shooting from Barnes. Came from Texas Southern last offseason.

Going to be relying heavily on Lamar Wilkerson next year, again. I hope we can bring in a guy to replace some of the pressure with creation and handling abilities. Mudge has a few offers out for dynamic-looking juco guards right now. We’ll see what happens.

Although this is football - https://www.collegefootballpoll.com/news...-new-home/

"1,427 FBS players entered the portal in calendar year 2021. Forty-two percent of those did not find a new home and 4% withdrew from the portal. Of the 54% that did manage to find a new home, 13% wound up below the FBS or even the FCS.

The numbers were dramatically worse for FCS players with only 38% of 626 players landing at any type of a new destination."

I wonder how well transfers to NAIA schools are tracked. A lot of NAIA rosters in many sports are loaded with people who came from D1 schools. But transferring to one doesn’t require much documentation or “permission” from the NCAA. NAIA schools can actively recruit players out of high school even after they sign a Letter of Intent at an NCAA school. I would be surprised if the NCAA even knows where some of their transfers end up.

Earl Woods has entered the portal. Has played QB, RB and some defense for us. Good player just we have several good ones at his positions and he could not advance.
