Talking about an ACC collapse and who we would want in that scenario is very reasonable to talk about.

did too. did not. did too. did not. SMH

The ACC will not collapse, because 1) it's not the PAC12, 2) those other schools will not be able to buy out of the GOR, 3) they have nowhere to go... what in the heck makes you even think that any of them would want to come to the B12?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE NCAA is pushing that alleged "random proposal". It's not random. The head of the NCAA is pushing it. Big money is behind it. just like them taking all the CFP money, they will push this through too.... it's not even a debate. Some form of this proposal is going to happen, and there will be a new "money subdivision".

Winning a law suit and coming up with exit money is a crap shoot at best, for the top ACC teams.

I would stay away from Louisville for a while. Their Athletic Department has been a trainwreck for several years. Let them clean up their messes and possibly look at them down the road.

As a bias UCF Fan... I want Miami and Georgia Tech.

UCF is stuck on an island in the Southeast, any additions down here would be greatly appreciated.

As a Big 12 fan: We have no idea how this will shake out, but we are sweeping up the best available.

-- Tier 1 -- (Programs I assume that will be taken by P2)
Notre Dame
FSU
Clemson
UNC
UVA
NC State

-- Tier 2 -- (Programs that we will be lucky to land)
Miami
Virginia Tech

-- Tier 3 -- (Realistic additions)
Louisville
Pitt
Duke
Syracuse
Georgia Tech
Boston College

-- Tier 4 -- (if the 4C demand more AAU members)
Stanford
Cal

-- Tier 5 -- (No, Thank you)
Wake Forest
SMU

Depends on who's left. Pitt and Louisville seem like schools unlikely to be targeted by the P2 who would be excellent B12 fits. Others that MIGHT be available---Georgia Tech, VaTech, Miami, NCSt. Any two of those would be fantastic potential additions if they were to express interest in joining the B12. Im less enamored with Duke just because Im kind of a football first guy---but there is no denying Duke is a basketball Blue Blood and I can certainly see how they could be solid B12 addition (especially if we were to lose Kansas).

That said, unless ESPN exercises their option to end the ACC TV deal in 2025---or a majority of the ACC votes to disband the conference----I dont see any way schools that are NOT heading to a P2 conference are going to pay hundreds of millions in penalty dollars to exit the ACC prior to the end of the GOR---when the payout in the Big12 is not likely to be dramatically different than the payout in the ACC. I could, however, see many of these schools with mutual B12 interest looking to head for the B12 as we get closer to the GOR expiration date.

RE: ACC’s Days May Be Numbered…. Which Schools Do We Target?
I read some posts on the ACC board yesterday talking about whether or not the ACC can survive. From their perspective, they believe the ACC can withstand losing Florida State and Clemson because of Notre Dame. They say that the Irish already get enough money from their current deal and that the Big 10 wouldn't do any better. They also point out the additions of Stanford and California, which Notre Dame obviously would have had a say in. Why would the Irish go to the trouble they already have to set themselves up in the ACC to then bolt to the Big 10? I don't necessarily agree with everything these ACC fans are saying, but I don't think their argument is unreasonable.

I'd be fine with Miami (FL) and Georgia Tech as well. I've been to Atlanta twice and to Miami once to see UCF play in those cities. Great trips.

Kansas is going nowhere any time soon.
Big plus Clemson/FSU (maybe ND, Duke, Stanford or NC St. )
SEC plus NC, VA possibly NC state, VT.
Big 12, Pitt, UL, and 2 of Nc state, Duke, VT, Ga tech, UM.
I think the B12 could hit the lotto here, with B10 and SEC each adding 2 or only 6 total.
imagine UM, Pitt, UL, and NC st or VT to the big 12 20 team version.
Power 2 plus 1. 03-cloud9

Because ND has no problem using anyone for their own interests. Even if it is very short term.

They're in a unique position. Maybe too unique for them to ever fully commit to any conference, even if it's the Big 10 or SEC.
