Just curious what you all have to say about that, although I think I already know what the general consensus here is. I'm guessing Sooner fans might be rooting for Texas since they'll be SEC mates?

I can't stand the ESPN Committee, so I'm hoping their required appointments are both knocked out in the first round.

I'm rooting for Texas because I am pretty sure they still have to split the bowl revenue with the conference.

Rooting for in the NY6:
Texas over Washington
Alabama over Michigan
Georgia over FSU
Oregon over Liberty
Ohio State over Mizzou
Ole Miss over Penn State

Why would any non longhorn root for Texas in any endeavor?

After all the years being told that I "had to" root for the AAC teams in things like Bowl games...Sure I'm rooting for Texas.

Let's face it:
1) Texas has a WIN over Alabama, the SEC winner...so, I don't have a problem with them being in the CFP.
2) As of the moment, they ARE a Big XII team, and that's what's going to be recorded in the history books. Who the hell cares what conference "they will be in" next season? This year they are a Big XII team.
3) As bad a Longhorn fans can be, I've had a number of friends who went to UT over the years.

So... Yes, I'm "rooting for" Texas to win the whole shebang.

Agree Jerry. I'm rooting for Texas and all the B12 schools because I want the conference to show well. Same when the NCAAT comes around.

I agree that any money earned would be split up with the conference, so cheering for them from that perspective. Plus cheering for BYU alum Sarkisian. Plus as much as I really don't like Texas, I like them more than Michigan or Alabama.

The Tide will role Meechegan and then Texas in the rematch.

Washington hasn't won it all in well over 30 years. It would be hilarious if they did so and started so many arguments regarding the playoffs.

Some people act like they don't belong after the FSU debacle. Might as well make it chaotic.

If Texas were playing Bama then I would cheer for Texas. But I'm pulling for Washington and Michigan in the semis.

The CFP today doesn't exist to determine a real champion, it is merely trying to generate $$ from eyeballs.

I'm saving all my "excitement" for the football playoffs for next year when 12 teams get to participate. I'll admit I'm dubious it's goal will be to determine a real champion, but rather merely a way to include more teams from 2 conferences and teams like FSU this year will still get f*cked. When that happens, we'll know it isn't really trying to determine a champion.

So, I'm in full on basketball mode and doubt I'll seriously watch any CFP this year.

How much does a team get for making the College Football Playoff?
Each conference receives $6 million from the College Football Playoff for each team selected for a semifinal game and $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the College Football Playoff (Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowls in years they are not semifinal sites). There is no additional payout for the National Championship Game, only additional expenses covered.

I want them to win it all. It will be a B12 championship and B12 $$$$. No reason to give it to SEC/Pac.

I just posted that the $$$$ would not change, even if Texas loses their first game.

It's $6 million each team, period.

The NCAA does not crown a champion in FBS Football, so technically it's not an NCAA championship and does not count in a schools or the B12's total NCAA championships.

Who to root for in CFP?

Meechegan - I cannot root for a team coached by sign cheaters.
Alabama - Will likely win but I cannot root for the SEC.
Texas - Why do people hate the Longhorns? Because they are so easy to hate! Reason to root is $$$ to Big XII.
Washington - It would be funny if they won because $$$ might end up in ORS and WAS pockets.
