That's not how it works. Go Huskies!!

How much does a team get for making the College Football Playoff?
Each conference receives $6 million from the College Football Playoff for each team selected for a semifinal game and $4 million for each team that plays in a non-playoff bowl under the College Football Playoff (Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowls in years they are not semifinal sites). There is no additional payout for the National Championship Game, only additional expenses covered.

Good to know. Yes; go Huskies. Do what the rest of us couldn't.

Wow. I'm kind of surprised that there aren't more people expressing Texas disdain here, but okay, great. Thanks for the playoff money, UT?

You think their primary rival is going to be rooting for them in the playoffs?

Fair point. Won't argue with that.

Some people act like they don't belong after the FSU debacle. Might as well make it chaotic.

There would be something kind of poetic about Washington winning it all since this is the PAC-12's final season (or, at least, the final season of the PAC-12 as we've come to know it).

According to Cal Poke's rules for the CFP money, it appears that the CONFERENCE gets $6 Million (not each team) and that is just for being selected for the final 4. Nothing extra for advancing to (or winning) the championship. So there is no other reason to root for Texas unless you want it for the Big XII.

Go Washington

If Washington and Michigan are in the final, I will probably watch. Otherwise not watching.

I don't see Texas winning the national championship as being of any help to the Big XII. The SEC, in effect, has two representatives in the playoffs: Alabama and Texas. No one at Texas gives a fig about the Big XII anymore other than that they want to win as many conference titles in any many sports as they can before they leave.

This! The only team I hate more is A&M. UT has done everything in its power to inject chaos into the Big 12 since day starting with making sure Nebraska knew who was the conference boss by (1) saving the annual UT/OU rivalry game while killing the annual Neb/OU rivalry game and (2) moving the now Big 12 headquarters from Kansas City to DFW. That move really chapped the Huskers. UT was also directly responsible for causing Nebraska and A&M to head for the exits, which was an absolute disaster on many levels. (Losing Colorado and Mizzou didn't move the needle for me.) TLDR, I will pull for any team playing UT except for A&M.

Even knowing there is no additional money.

Rooting for 1-loss teams like Texas and Alabama is funny, considering FSU not snubbed as an undefeated.

You want to add a comma to my post or an explanation?

When UCF was undefeated and got snubbed, I was rooting for the 1-loss teams to win the CFP so UCF could end the season as the only undefeated team.

This is kind of the same...

FSU has the opportunity to be the only undefeated team if the 1-loss teams beat the undefeated teams in the CFP. Liberty would also need to lose their NY6 game.

I enjoy chaos. I would find it funny if FSU was the only undefeated team at the end of the bowl season. I hope FSU boycotts the game to remain undefeated. I'm rooting for Washington, Michigan, and Liberty to lose their bowls. Maybe some obscure poll will rank FSU #1 and they claim a national championship.

That's better, thanks. I like chaos. (but I still can't cheer for Bama, Fexas, or the play stealing team)

I think an opportunity was missed here. Florida State and Liberty should be playing each other in a bowl.

Why not? They're both unbeaten. Putting two undefeated conference champions against one another sounds more appealing to me than putting them up against a couple of teams that finished second in their conferences.
