The Terrapins are 1-1 on the early season.

They beat Mount St. Mary’s 68-53. Maryland led 33-19 at halftime. Julian Reese (6-9 230) had 18 points and 8 rebounds. Maryland only shot 3-16 from three, and only 17-25 from the foul line. However they made 64% of their two-pointers.

Davidson beat Maryland 64-61 yesterday evening. Point guard Jahmir Young (6-1 185) had 18 points. Reese had 16. Maryland shot poorly again from three (5-23).

KenPom had the Terrapins ranked 23rd at the beginning of the season. They have dropped to 41 this morning.

UAB is 0-2 after two heartbreaking losses. UAB started in the 90th position and is now ranked 92nd.

KenPom has it UAB 67 - Maryland 73.

Although UAB has only dropped two positions in the rankings, KenPom now has the Blazers only going 17-14 overall and 9-9 in the AAC. That would be 6th place in the AAC.

Losing to Clemson by 1 was intentional. Beating a B1G club is where you really pick up brownie points in the advanced metrics.

Very early in the season, but Clemson did not look like a tournament team last night. We’ll see what Maryland’s got. I think at the end of the season, Maryland will be a slightly better metrics team.

We’re better than Clemson. Of course bad coaching will even that out.

Hopefully we have a good showing against Maryland.

Clemson looked like a borderline tourney team to me. Hall was great obviously. They had good role players around him though.

I think we are all just trying to find ways to rationalize away our pain from another preventable, self-inflicted loss.

I think we are all just trying to find ways to rationalize away our pain from another preventable, self-inflicted loss.

I have seen us have so many blow out losses, last second losses, close losses and WTF losses since the start of the program that I developed a tough hide. I just let out a “well …damn” move on to the next game.

That is a good philosophy to have.

If a game is close against an actual good "name" opponent, I just expect us to lose. If it's close against like FIU we MIGHT pull it out.
