Interesting game. SP+ has BYU at 48 and Cincinnati at 49. Getting this one would put UC in a really good position to make a bowl game and have a winning season. Lose it and there is a lot of work to do.

Bolded, lose it in a similar fashion to the past two games and I would agree. I had penciled that game in as a loss in the preseason envisioning the team being 3-1 at this point. It's a tall order, though not impossible, winning on their field.

I have had this game pencilled in as "probable loss" even before my bubble popped.

Not sure what y'all are expecting out of this one. At altitude, our D will be gassed by the end of the 3rd quarter. BYU wins going away on this one.

I don't know how much the altitude is a real issue vs. a loud stadium with about 65k fans. The noise and energy will play more of a factor than the "thin air" IMO. Current FBS ranks [yes, BYU's rush offense is correct]...

I'm going to give our team the best gift I can give them by saying that I think we'll lose.

I grew up in Aurora, CO (a suburb of Denver)... The altitude is a real thing. I'll also throw in this; as a backpacking guide in my younger years you also have to factor in the aridity. You lose a TON of moisture from breathing. The altitude makes you breathe harder, which sucks the moisture out of you. So, not only do you see exhaustion from just breathing harder, but you also see the effects of dehydration. Yeah, you can stay on top of it, but you HAVE to drink copious amounts of Gatorade...

The good news of both the hot-and-dry air is that, typically your kicking game goes nuts. You can tack an extra 5-10 yards on your PK and 10+ yards on your P. And typically the K tends to straighten out because there's just less air density working on the ball's surface. Just like MLB pitchers tend to have less break on their curve balls at places like Coors Field.

The altitude thing is real. There's a reason that the USOC training camp is in Colorado. Also, BYU is notorious for late, cheap and out-of-bounds hits (ask fans of any school out West about this), so getting out of there injury free is going to be important.

Sorry gang, I just have bad vibes about this game. Maybe it's an irrational hangover from Tub's teams' poor performances home and away against the Cougars a few years ago. But if some red zone problems aren't corrected this could get ugly fast. Ugly as in returning to Nippert and losing to offensively challenged Iowa State by a baseball like score of 5-3.

Again, it's just a vibe and no more valid than my confidence that UC would run away from Miami again in Nippert. We know how that turned out.

After losing 2 straight, this team is hungry for a win. I think we throw the kitchen sink at them and come out with the "W".

What? So it went from BYU +3 to +2? That's no swing.

I think you meant to say BYU was a 2 point favorite and now UC is a 2 point favorite.
