Game Week EMU at Minnesota September 9
The Gopher fans are mostly assuming victory and looking at this as a tune-up game for their North Carolina game. Perfect scenario.

EMU needs to run better and get some turnovers. Also need to get everyone healthy. It was nice that 3 true freshmen got some action on defense, but the vets need to return.

RE: Game Week EMU at Minnesota September 9
The OL needs to improve immensely, so we can run the ball more effectively! Also, our DL needs to get some kind of pass rush, and our LB need to play very well! I'll take the 19.5, but I see Minnesota 35 E Michigan 27.....If we can cause turnovers then it can get very interesting! This is our most challenging game on our schedule! Let's shock the big 10 once again!

I feel very, very confident that we will cover the spread.

After watching last week and also having true freshmen play in the rotation, I’m feeling less confident.

We were vanilla as ice in the second half against Howard. I think we will see a competitive game against the Gophers. Here's the problem I have with this game. Fleck had WMU rolling and they were tough to beat in the MAC and now you're going to give him Big 10 talent? Not seeing a pathway to victory but I'm hoping to see some positive things that will keep us moving forward.

Will we be at almost full strength against Minnesota especially at LB DL and DB?

The difference between Minnesota-level talent and good MAC talent is slim. Definitely not as wide as the perception.

It's my understanding that Kline and Swindle will be back for the game. Someone had asked about Douglas who missed some snaps during the second quarter after going out. He is okay and said he will be ready to play.

That's good news. Thanks.

I'm picking EMU in this game. Why? Last year we struggled with EKU and then beat ASU. We struggled with CCSU the week after we beat Illinois.

The biggest difference is the quality depth across the roster. Make no mistake, Minnesota is going to be big and fast, the fear is that they might be able to wear us down.

Beating a Big 10 team coached by a guy who once dominated the MAC would be an epic accomplishment. Biggest win in EMU history?

Wasted 20 minutes of my life and listened to a Gopher podcast. He referred to EMU as a cupcake. LOL. We've got 'em set up. Now our boys need to bring it.

Having Kline back is huge. I like Joe but the LB play last week without Kline well...

I haven't seen some of the younger LBs with the same level of talent as either Chase or Joe so far.

Spot on '79. I've said for a while that Kline and Sparacio are really, really good but the depth behind them is seriously lacking. I think Eliuk could be good but he is a true freshman. We should have hit the portal harder this last off-season and we will have to live with what we have now.

It looks like CC and staff really like Eliuk and frosh DB White.

Still think Purdue would be a bigger win.

…..or we just don’t have quality depth so we have to play true freshmen.
