I'm REALLY looking forward to cranking up the rivalry with y'all - we had some epic games in the somewhat short timeframe... 04-rock

I'm hoping your "fan support" is better the second time around. Went to a game in Birmingham once and it was lame. There were more stadium workers there than fans.

...well, we're getting there... ...perhaps the new conference level (and obviously we need to be at least fair-to-middlin' on the field) will get us some more folks in the stands... looking forward to it! 04-cheers

Can't be worse can it? Bright side, it was more people than UNC-Charlotte has ever had in their stadium but I digress.

Thanks. I look forward to continuing to play SMU for as long as the Ponies remain in the AAC, or even after if that is possible. And I'll continue to travel down to Ford. Hopefully, UNT begins making our games there competitive.

I’ll go ahead and apologize on our behalf. We got new turf last year, but that’s the only improvement I can recall in the 19 years I’ve followed UAB. We’re talking about building a clubhouse, but we’ve been talking about that since at least 2006. We’ve improved facilities for all sports greatly since we were aligned with many of you, but baseball and tennis are the two that have been left behind. Hopefully, we’ll be able to make improvements and become competitive.

Eastern Carolina and Charlotte have been in the same conference several times, but it never lasts for long. I am not sure what to make of that this time. Regardless, I think their jealousy makes a good foundation for local rivalry games.

What were you planning on smoking?

various avian species, maybe a bovine. We'll use the wood from a couple ships for fuel.

Memphis and Birmingham both really love their BBQ

Divisions sound great, but if not having divisions gives us the best path for continuing to secure the access bowl/playoff auto-bid, than I'd prefer not have divisions. I want the AAC champ playing in meaningful bowls like the other power conferences, more than I want yearly games with regional rivals.
