You all outplayed us. Not sure why we didn't press earlier and try to make you run non-stop, but you definitely controlled the tempo and executed both offensively and defensively.

RE: Congrats to USA
USA caught fire with a few games left in the regular season. This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone.

Yeah, all year they lost a ridiculous amount of close games. Seems something clicked to get them over the hump and then some late in the year. It's a shame for our champion's seeding that it went that way if they can grab one more W, but I'm sure USA fans aren't complaining! They'll be dangerous if they do go dancing.

Congrats to the Jags. Definitely deserved the win. With our depth and you guys only playing 7 guys, I thought we'd press the heck out of you all 2nd half. Throw in the extra game you guys had to play and the foul trouble-seemed like the thing to do. Oh well

Your teamwork and ball movement was impressive. Good luck against Louisiana.

Thank you for this post as it shows true sportsmanship. Our experience at today's game was superb in that we were able to enjoy mingling with many Golden Eagle fans that were friendly and cordial. USM is a class institution and has been for years. Back in my day Mississippi Southern was where most of my friends attended college after graduation from high school and a lot of Korean War vets from Mobile went there on the GI Bill. I agree that today's game in Pensacola had a great and fun atmosphere. In his postgame press conference, Coach Riley gave praise to your fans, the USM family and the Golden Eagle basketball team. We were astounded at the massive amount of USM fans who turned out for the game.

How was the crowd??? I only got to watch the first 10 minutes or so and they never gave a good shot of the crowd. I’d hope it was good for a Saturday, close to Mobile and Hattiesburg.
Recently ive been to cusa at the Frisco Sams and 3 times to bartow/legacy. To find something to compare it to would take going back to our metro days in Biloxi when we had Memphis and Louisville there.
with our current baseball situation i knew our crowd in pcola would take a hit. But it was very well attended by both schools. I was not in the area at the same time as Marshall but was told they brought a very good group as well

Congrats to USA! You earned the win today against JMU.

If you discount the regular season, the pre-season SBC Coaches Poll had the semi-final teams picked exactly right. Cajuns, Jags, Bobcats and Dukes were their picks, and the top two will play for the championship tomorrow.

Whichever team wins the SBC tourney, best of luck in the NCAAT. Make some national news. We Go SBC!

I'm not a big basketball guy.. I watched a couple of games this year.. Saturday I was out doing family things with the wife and kid but was tracking the score.. At one point USM had a slim lead and I really thought to myself we were going to slip up and avenge the loss to USA earlier in the season.. But alas we coog'ed it.

Congrats Jags...

Developing a very intense dislike for South AL. They manage to beat my Golden Eagles in many sports when a lot is on the line. It's almost like South AL cares more about their games versus USM, than USM does. I look forward to the day when the tide turns, but right now Ya'll pretty much own us in just about every single sport unfortunately.

Excellent point and worth repeating.

There was all kinds of shade being thrown at the coaches poll during the regular season and USM used that as a rallying cry.

But yesterday, the four teams the coaches picked were in the semifinals. Funny how that works out sometimes.
