Well, that was an azz-kicking.

I didn’t get to see much of it, but from what I did see and heard on the radio, we shot roughly 1/20th of a percent.

we looked like mannequins on defense ... y'all killed us running the floor...

it didn't matter if we played zone/man/man zone .... it looked like our guys were wearing ankle irons...

The production quality of the ESPN2 broadcast was beautiful to see. Our game looked even better than the Gonzaga BYU game.

The administration deserves a pat on the back for tarping the top deck, making nearly every seat in the cam a chair back. I paid good money for the chair backs in the center court in the past, but there really isn't a bad seat in the house now.

For anybody that didn't watch the broadcast, they were highly respectful of the Sun Belt, and acknowledged our future being bright multiple times.

I was kind of sad in a way to see that NBA teams are already calling on Micah Handlogten, hopefully we get a special season out of Taevion Kinsey and Micah Handlogten, it might be our only one.

No they won't. DD quit playing zone and teams have been scoring at will inside. Have you not actually watched a game?

What's the excuse going to be now? I'm sure we won't hear anything until the next loss.

I said what I said, we have a good front court D, and if teams struggle to dribble drive penetrate, we can lock it down.

That was a good old fashioned butt whooping. Marshall is just a much better team than USM, our defense was exposed.

Hopefully we can come back and play better at home in the coming weeks.

The boys looked good last night! Felt bad for the two injuries, even though being in a wheelchair I dunno what it's like to knock knees or roll an ankle.. :) best of luck with the non-Herd part of your sched!

Marshall was definitely the much better team last night. I'm hoping for a rematch on an ESPN network on a Monday in Pensacola!

Are you really sure you want a rematch?

What do you expect the answer of the question to be? No, we don't want to play you anymore? Congrats, you won, we'll see you next time. What a d*ck question.

I am all in, would love to be there on that night. If it is against USM that would be great too!

Absolutely, let me remind you of the 2012-2013 season. Southern Miss hosted Marshall in January of that season and won 102-46 and the game probably wasn't even that close as it was 47-7 at one point. Marshall won the return game that season 88-84.

Marshall was better Thursday night. I like Southern Miss's chances against Marshall if they play again.

You don't get to cherry pick a win any more than I do a loss. I gave them credit where it was due and it was. They played an excellent game and did everything right. Doesn't change the fact that they changed their defense for a couple games and we lost when they did. I'm happy we torched USM. I hope we continue to do so. I predicted we'd win them all with that weak ass schedule. My point was never we wouldn't win games, it was that we shouldn't schedule like that OOC because it's bad for the program. As of last night our SoS is still 314 out of 363 teams. That's awful.

Yeah that's bad. But I don't even think coach Dan knew what he had. We do have elite players. And if everything clicks, you can beat a lot of quality programs. His system does work, like last night the players were in a solid groove.

I agree, the frustrating losses are head scratchers. But I think we're closer to the peak than we are the valley.
