Fact is, like my Coogs, UCF underachieved this season. Own it.
Yea, I’ve been saying it since March.

This whole season feels like a lame duck purgatory. I don't like to admit it, but it really is. Hard to be motivated regardless of the stakes or competition.
I just don't think you're very dynamic offensively. At least compared to prior UCF teams.
I disagree, but only on the details. We're more dynamic than under huepel, but less than under Frost. I get what Gus is trying to accomplish but he doesn't have any more wrinkles to rely on. There's nothing unexpected about what he does, which is what his entire offense relies on. I have hope, though, if the rumors for OC are true.
What rumor would that be for OC?

Exactly. We’ve noticed this too. Idk wtf Gus is doing but the rumor mill is he is going to hire an OC with the ability to call plays which he should. Football has passed him by in that sense. He can recruit but total lack of development on offense and easy to defend as well.

Even moreso because I got to see CF get dunked, lol.
Hard to talk smack on them when we suck 100X more.
Not for me. My disappointment at our suckitude doesn't keep me from enjoying a CF loss, LOL.

Not quite like, IMO.
Houston had been a mediocre or bad team for a few years then erupted in to a 12-win season last year and a berth in the AAC title game, so expectations were IMO very high. Going 8-5 and out of the national conversation from the git was a big comedown, IMO.
But CF going 9-4 and now 9-5? They were 9-4 last year, 6-4 the year before, and 10-3 the year before that. So IMO, going 9-4 in the season fits right in with that pattern. They didn't win the AAC title, but that just makes it four years in a row. They did at least play for it this season, which they hadn't done the previous three years, so this year was arguably an improvement.
No question, losing the AAC title game and the bowl game vs a P5 was a letdown ending to the season for CF. But it was IMO pretty much par for the course of what they have been the past few years. The days of 12-wins seasons and AAC titles have been gone for a while now.

I don't know if the departing players like O'Keefe, Jean-Baptiste, and the other key players in the portal would've assured us of beating Duke, but we certainly would've had a better shot of winning. I think players who quit playing early ought to have part of their scholarship funding taken back. I'm not entirely blaming the players for this, but this is b.s. having so many bail on the team like that.
You guys got it bad this year, but every year guys opt out of these bowl games. We had our best receiver Javon Ivory (just got injured), and our second best defensive player Cullens (opt out for the draft) not play.
The guy who replaced Ivory got injured near the beginning of the game (concussion), and had to sit the remainder of the game.
I don't think one of our teams went into their bowl game with a clean sheet.
Plumlee was a headliner player for you guys and had a nightmarish game. Your team really didn't play with the intensity a UCF team normally plays with. You guys got hit hard with a bunch of Benedict Arnolds hitting the road (why would they do that if they're going to the B12), but like AAA said, you still had a lot of playmakers to replace them.
#1 whose name I forget, looked like he was somewhere else the whole game.
Bottom line is it looked like your team was not mentally prepared for that game. We all know you're better than that. Even short-handed.

Eh, 2014 was a triple-headed co-championship, with Memphis being arguably the real champ by virtue of having beaten Cincy.
Funny thing about that year - ECU was the only AAC team that was ever ranked by the CFP that season.
But no doubt, CF had a great run in the AAC, the best of all teams. Used it as a steppingstone. That's why I never cheer for other AAC schools to do well nationally. Just puts them ahead of USF in the race to move up.

Who in the AAC are going to sustain Alabama/Ohio State like records year after year?
We're the Coaches Triple A for the P5. UCF averaged almost 9 wins a season for 10 seasons. That's with an O-fer thrown in to dramatically lower that avg.
8.6 with the O-fer
9.6 without it.

I looked at UCF this year and predicted 9-3 regular season. With the talent they had I couldn't see more than that. They went 9-3 but were pretty banged up at the end. QB and Oline killed us at the end of season. Plumlee who needs to run couldn't do that late in the year. But if you told me game 1 this is where we would be I wouldn't be disappointed.

I didn't make the graphic. That's your conference's social media team.

These are some great accomplishments. Good luck in the BIG12. AAC will miss you.

I thought 10 wins including the bowl win. Just a piss poor second half to the season.
