Yep, it sold out two days after going on sale.

There are going to be A LOT of App people there. A LOTTTTT. Sort of like when App was playing Furman or Elon, it would be 50% or so App folks.

I wouldn't discount the toll that Marshall game took on Coastal. This conference has shown throughout the years that games scheduled in this fashion rarely result in back to back wins.

A year ago both fan bases were confident if not cocky. Today neither would place a dime on which team shows up.

Clearly both should be motivated, first quarter will tell us which coach prepped better.

I’m not worried about the first 15. As Marshall tried to show us, a fast start isn’t always enough.

We are gonna need our best, most complete game from the D, start to finish, to win this one. Last week, best D we see all year, this week, best O we see.

When tickets officially went on sale at least 70% of the stadium was already sold. I don't understand how those could possibly be App State tickets when only CCU personnel had early access. App didn't even sell out their visitor allotment until late in the game. I expect App will have a great visitor crowd, but it'll be max 25%~30% of the stadium. But we both know how this goes, App fans will say they took over.

The math doesn't add up.

CCU scheduled a blackout vs a fanbase that traditionally wears black. Good plan to support this theory.

Coastal is averaging 13,780 on Saturday games, so a sell out for a Thursday night game will be due to a lot of App Fans showing up.

Army had all reserved seating SOLD OUT
Georgia Southern had all reserved seating SOLD OUT
ODU had close to 17,000.

The two lowest attended home games were Gardner Webb and Buffalo for obvious reasons. If you wanna put a big Primetime divisional game with a lot on the line in that bracket, that's your fan base. I can tell you many Coastal fans have been looking forward to this game for a while.

I really find it hilarious that App State fans think they will actually have 10k+ plus fans there. 03-lmfao03-lmfao Delusional.

Sure!

It's very much about App State. Probably the most highly anticipated home game since BYU for your guys.

Yep, if Coastal has 13k fans, it’d be impossible for App to fit 10k more fans.
But let’s not act like Coastal didn’t do everything they could to minimize sales to App fans. Because Coastal fans are delusional if they don’t accept that.

I made a post about exactly what Coastal did. Giving CCU supporters early access is a smart move against any visiting school that has the potential to bring a high volume of visiting fans. The early access codes gave Coastal supporters an earlier opportunity to get tickets, which is why a large portion of the stadium was already picked off before they "officially" went on sale.

Coastal would've been crazy to put nothing in place for any school that is expected to travel well. You don't just willingly let them gobble tickets from your own supporters.

Go back and look at leaders of previous years. Games where people were scheduled to play Troy, Arkansas State, App, and Louisiana in any combination, two at a time, rarely won both games. It didn't happen because of the physicality in those games. This is a place for conjecture. If you don't like it, you don't have to respond.

It's the reality. Another reality is that Coastal was beaten and banged on by Laborn and Marshall's basketball team masquerading as an offensive line (all are 6'7 or so...massive human beings). Not sure what Coastals depth looks like but they are still going to be sore on Thursday.

With that, I think App's plan will be what we saw against Texas A&M. A 90's brand of ball where you run for 4, 3, and 5 yards all game long. You'll probably see 4th down attempts if it comes to that. I'd expect Cam to get 20+ carries and I'd hope App brings in Ahmani Marshall and Anderson Castle as they are two very physical runners.

Whomever wind the game will have earned it. It's going to be physical. I'm wondering if the expansion of the conference has taken some of the animosity away or if the teams still feel as they have the past two years? Good showcase for ESPN.

You're going to see a lot of black and gold: 1) because you're doing a blackout 2) App fans will also be wearing black and gold.

I'm guessing that was Coastals way of skewing the view of how many App fans actually come. Should be fun.

I'll be pretty happy with 25-30% of the crowd for a road game on Thursday night, especially with the limitations in place to prevent our fans from purchasing.
