Unless its Arkansas State vs ULM, then the result has apparently been preordained, regardless of how great or crappy each team is.

It’s one of the craziest winning streaks in sports to me. Maybe I should bet on Arkansas St. to win outright. I think my betting “luck” might be more powerful than ULMost’s “luck”. LOL

It's 6. Georgia Southern and Coastal both have titles. And of course that's only counting Sun Belt titles when the west has a lot more cumulative years in the Sun Belt.

Till UAB reared up, the East in CUSA was always better. WKU, Marshall, and FAU won 5 of the championships. Until UTSA, only UAB won a CCG from the west and the east teams generally won interdivision conference play. That changed a bit 3-4 years ago and the west started winning some more games. It got dissolved before true parity happened but it was on it's way.

*Rice also won one, but was before WKU and FIU were added in 2014.

It has been said that the east is so much better than the west that people have assumed it is factual and possibly permanent. I doubt may people could tell you much about any of the teams.
Yeah, people forget that the SEC East used to dominate the SEC West for the better part of a decade in the late 90s thru early 2000s. Thinking about that now is laughable as UGA is the only thing in the East with a pulse currently. The SBC East as a division is clearly the better side of the conference FOR NOW, but as time flows, it's not guaranteed 5 years from now.

And the thing is that the SEC East didn't dominate. It was Florida and Tennessee. Nobody else in the East did anything.

Glad to hear this because the East is a Beast! I want Coastal to compete in it at least a few seasons before the powers that be screw it all up. SBC East = $EC West of G5...05-stirthepot04-rock03-nutkick

While I think the East will be better, that doesnt mean the West will suck. Frankly, from far away in the mid Atlantic, I still have the impression every team in the west not named TxSt or ULM is usually pretty darn good. Every team has its ups and downs and it evens out in the long run. Leave it as is. The Sun Belt is a darn good football conference.

I'm strongly against any touching of the divisions. The SBC should stay focused on the logical geography and rivalry building that prompted the SBC's expansion in the first place. Divisions make too much sense here, and would be a critical step in the wrong direction to remove them.

The West wont be down forever. Things shouldn't always appear as lopsided. Hard to envision the East schools all being collectively down at the same time, so I think we end up with a far more balanced league in the long run.
