It’s hard to beat a team three times.

This is kinda why I wanted to play UNT. Plus I figured our guys would have a chip on their shoulder after losing at home to them.

Is it safe to say a consolation prize if we lose, is we get to play at Bartow next week?

It’s really not that hard to beat a team three times. That has been proven. The team that wins the first two wins the third 71% of the time.

I don't think ANYONE really wants to play another home game this season.

RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP UAB Louisiana Tech Preview Special
The good news about our bigs being in foul trouble today is that they should be fairly well-rested by game time tomorrow.
The idea of beating a team 3 times goes both ways. May make La Tech want it more, but it isn’t like either win was easy for us so I don’t think our guys will take this game lightly. Especially with an NCAA bid on the line.
It won’t be easy, but I feel good about our chances. Hopefully our team does too. It’s one more game and it’s within our grasp.

RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP UAB Louisiana Tech Preview Special
Don’t care what the standings said, these are the two best, most talented and most complete teams in the league going to battle tomorrow. The two best players, two best coaches and t o best collections of shooters.
Both teams had a couple of head scratching losses but I always felt both were better than North Texas. Not taking anything away from UNT who deservingly earned the regular season title. UNT is excellent and played the most consistently over the schedule. They know who they are and execute at a high level and are well coached. But just sheer talent, I wouldn’t rate them better than 5th. Their style is built for regular season. I always felt they’d be rolling the dice against the top teams come tournament time due to needing to keep scores in the 50s.

North Texas needs it's offense to be consistent in order to play well. They are really good at what they do. They had a great season. NIT will be better having them in it. I will be shocked to see them in NCAA but they are good enough. I prefer to watch them or other good mid majors over the 8th place team from Big 10. In fact I no longer watch much non UAB centric games on TV anymore. Looking forward to better TV games and productions.

RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP UAB Louisiana Tech Preview Special
UAB is favored by 3 points tonight against LA Tech.
KenPom has it UAB 75 - LA Tech 71
UAB beat the Bulldogs at Ruston back on January 22, 83-76. Jelly had 36 points, while Q had 14, Buffen 11, and Lovan 10. Archibald had 27 for LA Tech, and Lofton had 24 points and 12 rebounds.
UAB also beat LA Tech at The Bart last Saturday, 87-74. Jelly had 24 points, Ertel 20, Q and Jemison had 16 each. Lofton had 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Just wanted to stop by and wish y'all good luck today, and may the best team win!
Gonna miss playing y'all, no doubt about it. You all are the best in the league, and we'll need to fire on all cylinders + a few we don't even have, to beat the Blazers today.
Here's to a safe and great game!

Ever since the game where half of the players got tossed several years ago I've considered LA Tech to be our main basketball rival. It seems like every game is a war between us 2

RE: CUSA CHAMPIONSHIP UAB Louisiana Tech Preview Special
Can Jemison duplicate his effort from last Saturday against La. Tech, which was probably his best career game? Or will he be like the previous three meetings against Loftin, where he was embarrassed?
He has had a couple of pretty bad games in the tournament so far, so he is definitely due. And as has been mentioned, he hasn't played a lot of minutes in either game, so he should be well rested.
I hope we get 30+ minutes out of him. That could be the key to the game.

I hope Jemison tries to front Lofton at times
on defense instead just completely trying to body him up. Jemison has a height advantage and needs to use that to defend Lofton.

There’s no way the Blazers can lose on Bartow’s birthday (the other Bartow—my dog who turns 8 today)
