An interesting team he projects in is ASUN Champ Bellarmine, who we talked about before based on their beautiful passing. They are ineligible for the NCAA tournament because they haven't been DI long enough.

I'm interested if Furman will play in one of these if they don't get in the NIT.

I’m not excited about us playing them. We win, great. We beat a bunch of teams not worthy of an NCAA bid, and probably teams we should beat, honestly. We lose and we look all the worse for it. I see it as a no win situation aside from the consolation of playing at least one more game.

I’d rather our coaches and players keep that bitter feeling of losing a conference championship in their mouth so they come back with a chip on their shoulder next year.

Even if we weren’t playing in it, I’ve never liked the idea of the CBI or the CIT. I see them as pointless tournaments.

I may be in the minority. That’s okay. I just don’t like those tournaments.

It doesn’t take anything away from how well this team performed this year though. Quite an amazing season.

Their pointless the same way a bowl game not in the playoffs is pointless. But that doesn't mean they can't be fun or useful.

How about letting the players decide whether it's pointless or not. Usually teams vote on if they want to play these events or not. I'll support them either way. Fans opinions should always be welcome. But, in the long run, it should be what's important to the players. A 23-9 record gives them a right to passage. Whether it it be yay or nay, they've earned it.

I don’t recall ever saying I wouldn’t support them. That seems a bit of an exaggeration of my opinion on the matter.
