Sunshine Protection Act
Senator Rubio's bill has numerous cosponsors on both sides of the aisle. As we approach another stupid clock change I do hope this might finally be the year that we can put an end to this silly ritual. I prefer permanent DST, but standard time would be fine with me too if we could just set the damn clocks and leave them alone -

Since I moved to Wv last year it doesn't get dark until almost 10 PM at the peak of summer. That's a bit much for me.

After a few weeks I'm like enough already, let there be night.

You've got permanent TDS, isn’t that enough?

I'll take farther south and eastern side of muh time zone for a gagillion alex...

you moved ... this is a we thingy...

the whole dayum thingy is stupid ... it's all a relative issue based on those factors alone ... some win, some lose depending on need and function...

Made sense for farmers and train conductors 100+years ago. No idea why it’s still a thing.

It gets dark up here in July at about 10:45. In December it’s dark at about 4:45.

My life isn’t derailed a bit by that.

Man I couldn't handle 10:45, I would be looking to move.

I enjoy the evenings and nights.

I do too…they just start later. 03-wink

With all the stuff I do outdoors I love having an extra few hours of light. Winter can be hard when it’s dark by 5 pm and the sun doesn’t come up until 8:30. But that’s life.

Gardening at 10 pm in the summer after boating all day is outstanding.

I'd prefer to just stay on DST. I get so much more done in the course of a day. Besides, I'm afraid of the dark and all the monsters under my bed.

if you were a golfer that could be at the course by 6, you'd be in hog slop heaven, Ja?!

like I said, it's all relative + you moved north to the west side of a time zone ... you double dipped on that 'move into how the earth tilts and rotates'...

it's why the 'farmer argument' makes zero sense ... their work is based on sunlight - not how it's measured...

b/c the majority of the U.S. can now multi-task work/play during that time span, it serves those that enjoy both at maximum sunlight in the p.m....

Good news! Tonight I see that this issue is scheduled for a House hearing on Wednesday, maybe this can be the year!

RE: Sunshine Protection Act
I will say that I love, love the “extra” hour of sunlight in the evening. When I was working I could get home from work, eat supper, then go out and get the grass mowed…….or tee off at the course about 6:00pm and still play 18.

Oh, and did I mention that I hate dark at 5pm in winter…….

Make DST permanent!!

Actually the world has always revolved around me.

I'm still not fully convinced the rest of the world isn't just some fever dream I'm having after a night of too much Pizza Hut.

One of the major reasons I'd heard for the time changes was that during the winter, rural kids wouldn't be waiting for the school bus in the morning before dawn.
