a 40pt deficit is demoralizing.. can't expect anyone to have zeal at this point

kelvin Sampson is getting too much praise for what Houston has doingthis year for his son (top assistant) to not be getting calls

we have a national title-contending team next year, s doing that with his father might keep him on

Will Kellen have immediate success at his next stop? How much (if any) of the Sampson magic is his?

no.. Houston wins off culture, culture isn't built in 1 season..

houston system is actually kind of bad when ran with a ton of new players, there is a ton of doubling, and when not ran correctly you are just leaving a bunch of players open

give him 3 years depending on the job, maybe 2 if he inherited a winning team

They never had it at any moment. Bad effort gets you fired. It takes no talent to play hard. Would Sampson at any moment ever accept this effort from one of his teams?

You were the one crying last season when Newton got benched for poor effort.

kelvin is not going anywhere at his age... sampson is here till he retires.. the question is just how many years ..already one of the oldest coaches in the game

he will be "targetted" but isnt going anywhere to rebuild...

the goal has been very clear for sampson and that is just winning the national title.. the roster we have next year is "as is" a top 5 teams and we will have 2 or 3 ships to play with.. if he picks up a touted center, we are probably top 2 favorite to win it all next year
.. he is at the finish line in Houston, he wont go somewhere to restart the race

boeheim is still coaching. And as far as skill in coaching goes, Sampson is in his prime. Who would quit in their prime.

Two games ago ECU had the biggest comeback in school history, immediately followed by one of the biggest collapses in school history, that game was followed up with this. This is year 4 and it’s clear Dooley has no plan. My patience has run out, heed needs to be fired as soon as the plane lands back in Greenville.

this was statistically the best defensive game of the Sampson era

only 36 points allowed, and only 8 total fgs made, majority of the points were fts

It is playing just fine for me.

It must be my TV. It sounded fine when I switched to watching it on my laptop. I don't seem to have that problem with any other games on ESPN or espn2 on TV.

houston is a top 10 team, losing to us at home shouldnt be a killer.. we beat dan hurely by like 50 at home the last time we played...and he's doing fine

winning just 1 of your next 2 games and you are back to exceeding expectations

That was year 1 of Dan Hurley. This is year 4 of Dooley, and this team quit. You think this team is winning 1 of it's next 2 games? You think they are responding from this and beating Memphis or Cincy? I know you don't. This team is soft and gutless and responded horribly to blowing the UCF game, and they will not respond better to what they did tonight.

Two 15 game winners matching up as UAB beats La Tech in Ruston, breaking their 18 game home win streak and taking first place in C-USA. Jordan "Jelly" Walker with 9 3 pointers and 36 points.

depends, embarrassing losses are half the time motivational

i always tell people the turning point for Houston was wichita embarrassing us in 2017 ... prior to that game sampson was preaching "nba offense" and the goal of the team was to lead the conference in scoring.. i remember after the wichita game, he said "this will never happen again" and immediately changed..
i dont think sampson has preached anything about offensive goals ever since, since preached defense and rebounding

wichita could have beaten us by 40+ if they wanted (if they left starters out) i as a fan thought, there was no way we could compete with that team, they are just better.. Sampson post game said we will see what happens the next time we play, and what happened, wont happen again... i thought that was wild at the time...we played them 2 more times that year, we won both ..we havent been badly blownout since then 5 years ago, and only 1 game where we didnt have a chance to win it late (@oregon 2 seasons ago)

my point, being bad losses can be motivation...they could actually make you come out stronger
