Now you are seeing why I want Dooley fired. What we were doing was a fraud that was always a second away from being exposed. This is the exposing. This team has quit.
If ECU played like this all season you would be justified. You've really argued against yourself here. 1 game proves 17 games is a fraud? Or 17 games prove 1 game is a fraud?

Well, I think it's just frustration of watching this game coming out. I look for ECU to cut the margin a little bit in the 2nd half, but the Coogs are in too much control of this game to let it get close.
But ya, I wouldn't use this game as a gauge of how "bad" ECU is as much as I would use it as a gauge of how good UH is right now.

Houston looks like a top 10 team in the first half. What is the deal with the sound? I am having a hard time hearing the announcers, it is like there is a weird echo.

No, it's not. He does this whole shindig every time ECU trails or gives up two baskets in a row. He claims to be so certain that ECU is bad and Dooley must be fired, but he says it so repeatedly its clear that he just wants it to be so he must convince everyone else. If ECU was as bad as he claims nobody would have any qualms about firing him.

ECU got a bunch of miracle close wins against bad teams. Last second win against awful Coppin State, Southern Miss, a couple of miracles against Tulane and Memphis kept the dream alive that this was different. It was never different. This is the same garbage soft teams Dooley puts on the court always. This is going to be the start of a probably 7-8 game losing streak.

Then sit smugly and watch it happen and everyone else run around like headless chickens. Don't tell me I'm watching something different than I'm watching. ECU will have to perform levels worse than they have over the course of the season to have a 7 game losing streak, yet you claim it will probably happen. We are clearly not living in the same reality.

If ECU was actually as improved as you believe we wouldn't be losing by 30 at half. Good teams don't do what we just did. Soft, badly coached, pathetic teams do this.

ECU can be much much better than they have been historically and still be miles behind Houston or any other Top 10 team. Sometimes all it takes is a perfect storm of a night. I just watched ECU go toe to toe with 2 NIT teams in back to back games. Something I've never seen produced in decades of ECU basketball.

Dude ECU last year literally beat final 4 Houston and then next game with toe to toe @NIT champ Memphis. They then lost out the rest of the season. 2 games doesn't make you good, especially when you follow it up getting beaten in a fashion that only happens when you never showed up to play.

I agree to an extent that ecu is a soft team, for how tall you are, you should have better defensive and rebounding numbers ..
but id agree with your complaints if your goal was the naitonal title ... you arent
ucf and smu are "soft" aswell, but both are atleast NIT teams .. ecu with dooley can get on that kind of level next year...especially with 1 or 2 good pickup
which is a good goal for ecu next year.. an NIT quality team would still be historic for ecu.and not worth imploding by firing dooley
if im ecu, id burn the tape of this game, hope suggs gets back soon...and keep building the team up

I think we're talking about 17 games here.
Like I said, if ECU plays like tonight the rest of the season sure fire Dooley, and you can revel in it. Right now, you'll latch onto anything to try to convince everyone Dooley must be fired.

My goal for Dooley to deserve to be here next year is we needed to show we could rise to the middle of the league and approach .500 in league play. That's not going to happen. And there is never any excuse ever to give effort I just watched, ever. Houston is good obviously, this is inexcusable.

Was Dooley the best option at the time? I feel like going back to the ex girlfriend and trying to make it work a second time never ends well. I'm rooting for Dooley but I never was a fan of the hire, I feel like we are getting better but still miles away from where we could be.

I feel like we got just good enough to beat the awful OOC schedules Dooley puts together, and that's about it. The rest of this looks like garbage.

sidenote is that i don't think we can keep Kellen Sampson beyond this year
kelvin Sampson is getting too much praise for what Houston has doingthis year for his son (top assistant) to not be getting calls
we have a national title-contending team next year, s doing that with his father might keep him on
