Also no one cares that a few of you won't be watching. Not sure why people feel the need to announce things like this lol. The ratings will be high as they always are.

Actually no. Last years ratings dropped precipitously. It was still 18.7 million but the least watched and it’ll likely be worse this year especially bc this game was played a few weeks ago.

They're the two best teams. Who else should be playing?

Even expanding the playoffs, I'm 90% confident we end up with the same result in the title game.

Only way to MAYBE change that is to eliminate FCS wins from counting towards eligibility and to introduce a "quality wins" formula that punishes the Alabamas of college football from racking up wins against the Citadels and Umasses of college football.

LOL Lighten up Francis, nobody cares that you will be watching either.

If announcing your great tv ratings epiphany (that actually just equates you to a football lemming) makes you sleep better at night, well then sweet dreams! 02-13-banana

At a minimum Alabama should have played Georgia in the first round due to them being in the same conference and to ensure the championship game is not a in season rematch.

College football has a problem and protecting privilege will not help it. There's cause and effect to everything. Current system is consolidating power which limits the growth opportunity of the product. They should be looking to the future diversifying the growth of the sport in a more equitable way increasing competition. That increases fan interest attracting more eyeballs. The mismanagement of college football is an illogical violation of the public trust, but greed is alive and well! The powers that be don't want competition which will be it's demise in competitive sport.

Love the AAC brand and will continue to watch. I live in supposedly ACC country and it's some of the worse football on the planet. Can't watch that crap. Talk about boring!!

LOL, yeah they just racked up wins vs the SEC teams too. What kind of sense does that make? Yeah they play one FCS but they play several teams that would win just about any G5 league and would contend for the title in most other P5's as well.

Agree... and yet, I'm surprised you are in this since y'all are headed to the BigXII.

It should be obvious to everyone that the current playoff format is geared to reward at most 2, and at least 1 particular conference - B1G and SEC.

It should also be obvious that Cincy's loss to Bama will be used by those 2 conferences in particular to argue that the G5 really doesn't deserve a spot in the playoffs, and that "really" only those 2 conferences should be getting the 4 spots alloted, despite the arguments from the 3 other "P5" conferences (including the Big12).

So even the B12 teams (old and new) have a stake in this fight.

I have as much interest in watching this game as I do the U.S. Polo Championship or the Herreshoff Classic Yacht Regatta.

Which is to say none. This is an exclusive event for blue bloods

RE: Alabama vs Georgia… here we go again…
The entire college football system is a joke. It does not make good business sense. We're watching an excellent product being destroyed by imbeciles.

Football at it's core is based upon competition. The stewards of the game are consolidating resources to limit competition. This violates the entire premise of their product. In the end this illogical business model will shrink it's customer base when a altruistic approach is a more appropriate strategy.

I sit on the executive panel of a corporation. Our investors would have us all fired with cause if we ran our business this way. It's nuts.

There is so many ways to improve the game and product making it a juggernaut business model. It could rival the NFL while also creating opportunity for a lot of people who wouldn't get one otherwise.

These issues will have to be addressed eventually or business will shrink. The consumer is changing. Decision makers can be forward looking or a time for choosing will be forced upon them.
