Brutal stuff.

Typical Cincy beat itself post.

My first comment was Tulane shot the hell out of the ball. That isn't necessarily Cincinnati beating itself. UC played horrible defense in the first half, but even playing defense that badly you don't expect anyone to shoot like that. Tulane was great.

Second half UC played great defense, but Cincinnati is a terrible shooting team and couldn't make enough shots to give them a change. That's not saying "Cincinnati beat itself". Cincinnati shot like you'd expect them to shoot...badly. Tulane usually plays a fairly aggressive 2-3, extending out to try to force turnovers....they smartly were much more compact yesterday, trying to wall off the lane and trusting a bad shooting team to miss shots.

You guys are the best...can't even make observations about a game without your nonsense.

Some people just going to piss on Cincinnati because we are headed for greener pastures. Memphis with all the talent in the world should be much better. But Penny has had them beating themselves on a regular basis ever since he started coaching there.

Misery loves company, you know.

Yep, because some of us are really pissed that we lost to Tulane. They have momentum.

Pffft...Still no excuse for that loss.

It wasn't like Tulane was knocking down 3s in our face all night long. They were wide open...

They targeted Malcolm and went at him every chance they could and were very successful...This started from the tip...No adjustments were made to counter that so yeah they scored at will.

Nice win. But does it need its own thread? 4-5 team losing to Charleston twice isn't all that great either.

Also, I know Tulane has some struggles early and will have more growing pains, but assuming Cook, Cross and Forbes stick around a couple years, this Tulane team is going to compete for a tournament bid in the future. Cook is a dude. Could be conference player of the year next year or the following if he sticks and Tulane gets among the top teams in the league.

On a conference board, the "X beat Y" threads should be reserved for ooc games.

sure thats it. cincy fans get a pass now for backhanded compliments. thats exactly what it was.

greener pastures?

i doubt it will ever get greener for cincy. thats the reality. more conference money, yes. better chance at the playoff, never. level playing field with the NILs at other schools, no.

What exactly was the "backhanded compliment".

Tulane shooting the hell out of the ball in the first half? they did. They are a damn good shooting team in general but shooting mid 60s from 3 in the first half is shooting the hell out of the ball.

The Bearcat defense seeming to be clueless? Seems that's more of an insult to how UC played in the first half.

Tulane was great? Yea, that's pretty damn backhanded. My bad.

Cincinnati playing great second half defense, but not being a good enough shooting team to close the gap. I guess describing how UC played is a backhanded compliment to Tulane.

UC being a poor shooting team? God...the backhanded compliments toward Tulane are never ending.

Tulane's best 3 players are better than Cincinnati's best 3 players.
