baylors AD said he needed "compelling arguments"...why would you need compelling arguments for something youve already decided on???

I fully expect that the Big 10 and SEC will want a voting system that gives larger conferences more power. Honestly, In time, I fully expect the SEC and Big 10 to have 20 teams.
The AAC and PAC will eventually get raided. It actually serves the Big 12 well that they were the first. This is why I think they will expand to 16.

Long term, when the ACC and PAC get raided, they will look to raid other conferences. The Big 12 is currently seen as the weakest but if they add a few more teams and the next realignment isn't for another tv contract cycle (8-10 years) It allows the Big 12 to establish itself as a conference.
This is also why I think that SMU and USF will be involved. Every conference is gonna seem hodge podge and slapped together... because they have been. This back and forth raiding is creating conference without culture or history. THe big 12 could end up in a strong position where it is seen as the third best after the BIg 10 and SEC.
The ACC and PAC will be freshly raided, without their top teams and will be looking to raid. If the Big 12 is established and has a solid 16 teams with some history and rivalry, I bet they are a more valuable piece than whatever remains of the ACC and SEC.

Remove UNC, Virginia, Georgia tech, Notre Dame(all to the Big 10) and FSU plus Clemson (to the SEC) then how many would really want to be in the ACC? Thats 9 teams that isnt all that exciting... I mean, miami and NC State would be their power teams.

Then look at the PAC. The Big 10 is gonna want 4 at a minimum. Washington, Oregon, USC and Stanford are all locks. At that point, I dont see the Leftover 8 of the Big 12 wanting to change conferences for some Arizona schools, leftover california schools, the second bests in washington and oregon, along with their two newest teams. Thats when SDSU gets the call and maybe a couple others. ITs an ugly conference that honestly wouldnt make more than the new Big 12.

If a new Big 12, with 16 teams has a chance to play 6-8 years together, I truly think their tv deal would be better than either the ACC or PAC after they are raided... and if they want to go to 20, like the SEC and Big 10, they could.
