I think the bigger problem is the fact that our defense just isn't very good to begin with. Get an early stop and you won't be on the field so long.

NIU cant run against us but they can throw

Our defense isn’t looking bad here, NIU is just refusing to lose easy.

We only ran 3 plays in the first quarter...

NIU makes 2 4th down conversions on their second drive, one a fake punk (should've seen that coming IMO). They now have it 4th & goal on the 3rd. I think they should try for their 3rd 4th down conversion.

Broncos have had ball 45 seconds so far. D playing good but need to get stops on those 4th down tries.

Defense can’t get off the field... but NIU has gone for it twice on 4th down and faked a punt.

Can NIU sustain this a whole game? They did last year. They do so much with so little to work with.

This is the thing. Looks like our guys thought NIU would just lay down, same as last year....

I'm a little worried after that 1st quarter.

I don’t think NIU can sustain the gambles... but ya never know. Their offense is basically just playing 4 down football.
