Gee I wonder why these pictures never show the endzones or the home teams side. Oh yeah, because it wouldn't fit the narrative.

Still a dick move is a Dick move. Stay classy UC fans.

Yea man. Judging by the 50 yard seats in the lower level, the home team side was just packed...wall to wall people everywhere.

So there's what - 27,000 people just outside of the picture? Okay, Karen. 07-coffee3

Announced attendance rankings after Week 12 games

1) UCF 43,502
2) Memphis 40,446
3) Cinci 37,161
4) ECU 34,161 (+1)
5) usf 32,937 (-1)
6) Navy 31,617
7) Temple 30,002
8) Houston 26,192
9) SMU 24,207
10) Tulane 20,119
11) UCONN 19,443 (+1)
12) Tulsa 19,265 (-1)

What I see, the possibility that every team finishes above 20k. SMU is probably going to clear 25k (where we all should be at for a floor) so nine of the teams should finish there. Seven at over 30k, where we all want to be at least. ECU might climb back above 35k to give us four and two over 40k.

I believe we are looking at a nice increase over last year one of the few conferences who will see that.

Still just joking, right? Every fricking time KL does his ANNOUNCED attendance thread, it devolves into an anti-USF thread. As a moderator, aren't you supposed to foster participation, not alienate a fan base?

It's not an anti-USF thread. It's a statement of fact. Mods don't have an obligation to create a safe zone for you and your brethren.

You're right - but dragging USF through the mud for no reason was uncalled for, especially by a mod. I mean, I could state the fact that Al Hmiel did some shady things at Cincinnati to help the athletic program. It's a statement of fact, and I don't have an obligation to create a safe zone for you and your brethren. But it would be totally unprovoked.

This happened over 40 years ago and is not news to UC fans. The program was sanctioned by the NCAA and put on probation (not the slap on the wrist they give programs today). This is why UC basketball was god-awful in the 1980s (later resurrected in the Bob Huggins era in 1990s).

Al Hmiel. A UC basketball scout from 1978. You have to be joking.

I know Memphis attendance is way up over say the last 5 years. How about the AAC as a whole? Does anybody have the energy to compile year-to-year data?

LMFAO. I posted it because "announced" attendance is often absurd. I chose the USF one because I specifically remembered the picture from someone in the UC press box this past Saturday. Had it been another team I remembered I would have posted that. Nobody is singling out USF. Get a little thicker skin.

In USF's defense, and based on the scoreboard, that might have been the opening kickoff. I'd be interested in seeing a shot from the end of the 1st qtr.

Also, SMU's Ford Stadium's capacity is 32,000 while ECU's newly renovated stadium seats just shy of 51,000.

The continual problems reported with scanners operated by the City of Memphis means an under count at the Liberty Bowl to an unknown extent.

Death, taxes, Memphis fans complaining about faulty scanners at the Liberty Bowl...

USFFan

The fact of faulty scanning is undisputed. Therefore, the complaint is legitimate because it understates attendance. The complaint is directed against the City of Memphis for their failure to fix the issue.

A sell out like the Tiger victory over SMU should not be necessary to report the correct attendance.

This is my favorite running gag. It's the absolute best. The level of cognitive dissonance you have to use to make this argument work is hilarious.

I went to the UC game a few weeks ago (this is a true story btw). My wife's ticket was scanned in, and then my ticket wouldn't work on the handheld scanner. Wouldn't beep for a denial or acceptance. The usher just waved me through as to not hold up the line.

This is clear evidence of a problem with UC's scanners. Who knows how much UC attendance is understated? Could be infinite...

Get a tougher skin bro. Tulane fans have gotten smacked down over attendance since we joined this conference. What is pretty pathetic is that neither of our schools are filling seats. I was coming for Tulane just as hard as USF.

Say what you will about ECU, but they have always had a solid fan base. They have been mediocre for a while now, so this is their core fan base, not many G5 programs have that large of a core fanbase.

Agree, they have a loyal fan base resistant to the fickleness inflicting most programs. They are a remarkable exception.

Us, the town of Huntington WV, and Cleveland. No one is topping Cleveland in the loyalty to terribleness index.

Announced attendance is actually tickets distributed.......sold or given away. Schools give away lots of tickets to recruits, families etc. That should be an an absolute known figure. So what does scanning tickets at the stadium have to do with it?
Thought the NCAA required a certain sold value minimum ($20?) In order to apply to attendance. In other words, free tickets or any tickets purchased under the minimum cant be reported
