Does USF consider hiring him back, if and when Charlie bombs out?

Even the most casual fan thought that Willie's stint at FSU would be short-lived. It will be interesting to see which AAC coach that FSU poaches. Lots of candidates this year.

FSU floated a trial balloon rumor that they wanted to chase Urban Meyer.

Well I respect a program where losing... or getting progressively worse... is not tolerated.

Tag for his big payday almost exclusively due to Quinton Flowers. He should buy QF a Mercedes.

Willie was chasing a payday all along. He had no loyalties to anyone, including Oregon. Including USF, where he said he was happy to be home, and also including WKU, his alma mater. Maybe he will be humbled now and commit to a school long term (if he gets another job).

I cannot think that there has been a worse hire in the history of big time football. Taggart has hurt alot of people.

When you consider that freshmen and sophomores are frequently taught by adjuncts (I have read it's something like 50%) who are yearly contract employees and earn an average of $2500 per course with no benefits and who are eligible in many cases for food stamps, that $20 mill could go a long way. Administrative and consultant positions and salaries have soared along with tuition, but not for a substantial number of the folks who actually teach. I'm not including the increasingly small number of tenure track folks who make a fair living, but the adjuncts who teach as many hours but make a pittance in comparison and are basically reduced to casual or day labor.

Rant over. Sorry, but I couldn't ignore the issue--I've worked as an adjunct.

Back on topic as a USF poster said Taggert sounds like a real sleazeball. Too bad he's set for life. He needs to coach at a community college for $65,000 a year as penance.

That's sickening. I'm as big a free market capitalist as you will find, but something should be done about this... Although I guess the blame rests squarely on USF, Oregon and FSU for PAYING him.

The desperation to win makes some schools take ridiculous chances. So much money being wasted... smh.

That dude REALLY needs to send a very big gift to Flowers. Sheesh.

Someone from USF needs to explain how this guy got all these opportunities. What is the appeal from an AD’s POV?
