You shut your dirty whore mouth. Just because neither of us have football teams doesn't mean one of us doesn't have a basketball team.

Enrollment
Wichita State: 15,784
East Carolina: 29,131

That is a big difference.

I think Memphis and WSU are mirror universities and athletic programs.

Uh.... Screw you. We have an Elite 8 Appearance and Multiple Sweet 16's due to 16 NCAA tournament appearances. We also have two NIT championships. Don't try and drag our basketball program down just because yours blows.

I would have thought Memphis = Cincinnati. Aside from enrollment size, but then again, your city is twice the size as ours as well. It seems we are both urban research Universities with athletic history going back to the Metro conference days and I don't know how much further back than that. We both are river towns. True, we are a more southern vibe in line with Houston, but Texas is to "western swing" as Tennessee is to "Country". Kinda not the same thing. Plus, Memphis is a more urban vibe, not really fitting the profile of the traditional Tennessee town.

No offense, but the academic research and the school endowment aren’t even close. Cincinnati has a huge medical center, a Top 50 Law School, One if the best Design and Music Programs in the world along with Aerospace Engineering. UC has a $1.4M endowment.

The shared history during the Metro days is noteworthy, but not enough to say we are similar university profiles.

In all honesty compared on a national scale almost all of our teams are very similar.
Colleges based in major cities that are generally the next best thing under the flagship state schools that don't exist in the city or close.

Might as well call us the Metro Conference.

Memphis
Houston
Cincinnati
Wichita
Tulsa
Orlando - UCF
Tampa - USF
Philadelphia - Temple
Dallas - SMU
New Orleans - Tulane

Kick out ECU. They’re not metro enough. Some might even call them Ru-ral.

I started to zing him for that, but figured it wasn't worth it, lol.

Your Law school is ranked 83rd, ours is ranked 138th. Your Architecture Program is ranked 70th, ours (only about 10 years old) is ranked 115th. Yes, your rankings are better than ours, but let's not get too carried away. Let's not forget, you guys spent much more time in the Big East, and I don't care what anybody says, that BCS designation affects (affected) how people voted for your colleges within your University. No, we don't have a med school, because UT already has a med school located in Memphis. I don't think we can get one started because of that. The state legislature would never allow it.

BTW, Google "Law School Facilities rankings" and click on the first result.

We are playing catch-up in the endowment department since joining the BigEast/American. I wonder how our Endowments compared in 2000.

I don't agree that Temple and Cincinnati share a vibe. Temple is decidedlyurban, situated in a densely developed area with a campus surrounded by endless blocks of ancient row houses, and it lacks an on-campus stadium. It has a kind of office building look about it. UC is suburban, with way more green space on and adjacent to campus, and culturally, Cincy is more southern than eastern. I'd say Cincy and Houston probably have more in common, though they're more distant geographically. UC also has a longer history of athletic competition with Houston.
